Review

Mild sweet Virginia.

There are many types of finished Virginia and this to me was one of the mildest of them all - light and sweet. Like Virginia tobacco, there’s a distinct perfume on the exhale and the vape smells slightly tobaccoish too. As Virginia is often used to provide lightness in tobacco mixing and can be grown and cured to provide a gentle flavour, it is easy to see where this concentrate was inspired.

I tried this dripped on several atomizers including a Joye 510 a hand coiled A7 and a 306 and got the most flavour out of the 306 – it was a very authentic Virginia taste - very similar to my own home steeped Flue Cured Virginia - so the taste is realistic.

I mixed at 2% and went up to 5% before I got the sort of flavour I wanted but at 5% it was too sweet for my tastes, however it delivered its Virginia tobacco notes.

If you are looking for a light authentic Virginia taste, this is it. It is not Golden Virginia and should not be confused with tobaccos that contain Burley or Fire Cured Virginia – it is lighter than these.

I have to say this is not my kind of tobacco vape – I smoked Marlboro Red and Drum Dark Blue; in fairness to it, this concentrate is rather good at what it does. If it were stronger, people who want a light Virginia would bitch – so something of a rock and a hard place to both pitch and perfect. The flavour though has that rich gentle Virginia taste so there’s nothing to complain about and much to commend, it is authentic.

Value

At 5% you’d use 0.5 ml of this concentrate to make up 10 ml of e liquid – 12.5p’s worth, so if my math is right, a bottle of concentrate would let you make up 200 ml of e liquid. When I mixed Decadent Vapours Virginia it needed 10% to get a similar level of flavour, and cost just under 30p per ml. I’d therefore say the Tino D’Milano Virginia was good value for money. Like for like I found this a little more complex and satisfying than the DV competitor, though taste is always subjective and personal.

Use as a mixing ingredient

You could use this anywhere you wanted a light tobacco flavour and to cut other flavours, as tobacco blenders do – it can take away harshness and add that rich light Virginia note to other tobaccos.
