I bought both of these with my own dosh from Peterborough’s www.ecigwizard.com all pricing and images within this article are taken from the aforementioned web site.

Tank Vaping

These are a different solution to tank vaping.

Technology.

The Vivi Nova uses a replaceable atomizer and wick system. The Puff Daddy uses a replaceable punched cartomizer – originals being flanged at the bottom.

Build

Both seem OK – the Nova has a reputation for tanks cracking with certain juices – the Puff doesn’t have this.

Make up

The Vivi Nova has screw on tops and bottoms to the tank. On the Puff these are a push fit. Both are supplied with a drip tip – that pushes into the end and for me I find both a decent size and comfortable.

ThePuff holds 6ml of juice the Vivi Nova 2 3.5 ml. So if size is the issue, go for the Puff.

Packaging – the Vivi Nova 2 comes beautifully packed – it’s almost presentation packaging. The Puff is OK.

The Vape

I have been vaping these for over a month and had several tankfuls of each. Both contain El Toro Cigarrillos and both have been vaped at between 4.2 – 4.9 volts. This is my normal vaping range for this – I start my day at the gentler end of the vaping voltages and it goes up and down from there depending on mood. Both have been vaped on a Lavatube and TTS mod.

The general vape is sweeter and hotter on the Vivi, dryer and cooler on the Puff. Both are using similar resistance atomizers / cartomizers - 2.4 and 2.5 ohm.

Long term the Puff vape is consistent from top to bottom of tank. The Vivi though – the juice is nicer at the top – as you get towards the bottom the juice seems to have cooked a little, got slightly harsher and gloopier. Some people like this, I don’t.

Dry hits – none with either.

Changing the cores.

I swapped out the atomizer on the Vivi in about 5 minutes – its simple but a bit messy. Swapping the cartomizer on the Puff was an absolute breeze, undertaken in about 30 seconds with a ¾ full tank and not one drop of juice spilt or on my hands.

Costs & Replacements

The Vivi Nova 2 kit, with 2 spare (different resistance) atomizers is £11.99. The Puff Daddy is £9.99

The pre-punched dual coil cartomizers for the Puff Daddy are £2.29 each. The Vivi Nova atomizers are £2.99 each.

There is very little in it on price and costs

Durability

I took both these to a 4 day gig and on holiday and have used them out and about. The Vivi, with its screwed connectors instils more confidence. But the Puff showed no signs whatsoever of falling apart and after a few days at a festival – I was vaping on it with some confidence every evening. However, the Vivi mouthpiece remained in place. The Puff was constantly coming off in my pocket. Not the end of the world, but when you’re wearing gig trousers with a huge amount of deep pockets and you have other things in the same pocket, irritating. Both are reasonably tough.

Conclusion

There’s no huge chasm between these on buy price.– the cartomizers and atomizers aren’t a huge difference in price either. I am not unhappy with the Nova 2, but, the Puff is a nicer more consistent vape with the added benefit of simple clean cartomizer changes, and thus wins. But it’s not a huge thing and if you like a warmer sweeter vape and were writing this review, you’d plump for the Nova 2 – they are both good value for money.

There’s only one more thing to say:“Vaping on Puff Daddy” makes you sound like a bad-ass Hip Hopper – the Vivi Nova 2 sounds like you’re sucking the exhaust of a low power Vauxhall hatch back. Yo! Bros!

Perfect timing!
I'm just looking to buy a new tank and these two are on my list. Thanks!

I'd go with the Vivi over the PD for the only reason that I do not like DCC for their airy draw. I am really liking the visions as of late and and like the idea of the tank being a bit bigger however, How would it look on a cube or papaR?

Actually it's not airy at all until your eliquid level drops to within a mil or so of the cartomizer draw hole. At this point it gurgles and you can get mouthfuls of air - I tilt the thing, but if you fill it up it delivers rich plumes of vape. There is very, very little between these two on vapour production. If you want more vapour the Puff cartoz are available as low as 1.25 ohm. The Vision is good - tonight I gave a brand new one to one of my boys - there's a lot less scope for a careless accident with the screw top Visio than the push-pull top Puff. I also have a feeling (don't know why) that the Vision atomizers will outlast the Puff cartomizers. But - you're getting a good deal with either or both of these and it's choice. Maybe I should take a pic of both on top of a Lavatube - so that you can judge the aesthetics?

Bryan I like your reviews. You adopt a clear style and they're very easy to read. :applouse:
I was a DCT user for a while using the Puff Daddy/Diddy, the Big Daddy/Little Mama, all pretty much doing the same thing with the overrall vaping experience dependent more on the carto on a 3.7 V mod or battery and on the voltage on a standard resistance carto. Refilling could be a PITA though the tank filler widgets helped with that process.
I'm on my third Vivi Nova style tanks and the latest V2 (long wicks) works surprisingly well and DAMN so easy to refill.

For any tank though the biggest downside is this isn't it?

There's a vid on Youtube somewhere about swapping out the cartomizer in the Puff Daddy and it is such a clean simple job - and my only change was with a full tank. Can I find it? No.

I think the nova rocks, best tank to date i have ever used
And cheap as chips

I set one up for my youngest boy last night. I bought it because for an absolute novice, if the wick is soaked before first use, it is hard to mess up. Mr Throat Hit is very happy with it.
