spending a fortune on juice at the minute so i want to make my own, mainly a cherry menthol that wont break the bank.

i like my juice 50/50 pg/vg so i get my nicotine base then some vg and pg and then a flavour
makes sense so far
but then i see that nic comes in vg or pg options and when i use mixing calculators they dont take this into account.
say if i have a pg based nicotine which i put a certain amount of in then i add equal amounts of pg and vg to this i would end up with a heavy pg mix because there is already pg in the nic. am i right?

also someone posted on here that vg is available from boots for a couple of quid and posted a link but it doesnt say it is vegetable glycerin it just says glycerin in the ingredients, would'nt this make it just G and not VG?

was thinking of getting this http://www.leisureliquids.com/regulareliquidmixingkit.html
seems cheap and with everything i need to make quite a bit of juice i would say
what do you guys think?

Check out eJuice Me Up.
It's a downloadable calculator that takes into account if the flavours and nic are PG or VG based.

I asked that very question last night in Doofrys thread about mixing. It's confusing, isn't it!

If you do a search on the mixology section, you'll find recipes like this one that may be a good place to start on a cherry menthol:

Yeah I saw the cherry menthol in that section earlier. So am I better just making a cherry juice then chucking a couple of menthol crystals in there or is it wise to make up a certain amount menthol vg and use that a the main mixing vg?

Actually just seen that you can just buy the menthol concentrate so rather than messing with crystals I could just use cherry and menthol concentrates at different ratios, would this work better?

Re using menthol crystals: Get them from a reputable source such as Boots or a pharmacist. They will only mix in PG, ideally the PG should be warm for quick dissolution, or do it in a glass bottle and microwave the mix for 5 seconds.

It may be simpler to start with to find a menthol concentrate you like to make up a basic mix. Some people add a little Koolada which gives you the cool feeling.

You can then mix this with your cherry juice, bit by bit until you get the mix you want. The golden rule is that you can always add more but you can't take it away!

I'm afraid a lot of it comes down to trial and error, there are so many concentrates to choose from and taste is so subjective.

Just have fun experimenting!

@Purplefowler are you still making cherry menthol juice, can you help @possiblevaper?
Yep :)
boots menthol crystals are great for making cherry menthol. I normally start with 3 largish crystals and work up from there. They dissolve really quickly and are really easy to work with. I don't bother making menthol concentrates. I also don't like my menthols too strong so it's nice to build it up. Oh and I use boots vg as my main base and have no problems with them not disolving :)

What's the best cherry concentrate to use? Just buying a starter kit from leisure liquids.
So just making the cherry liquid and adding a few menthol crystals after it's done?
