I like flowers in the house, but they're not usually bought specifically for the missus unless it's her birthday etc. But romance can be displayed in many other non Mills and Boon ways.

That's the point though, isn't it. I hate cut flowers - I think of them as beheaded plants and I find them utterly depressing. If someone bought me flowers it would just make it crystal clear that they don't know me at all. Which is not romantic.
