As many
Might be a stupid question. Mods please feel free to move to newbie section.

I have bought a kanger top tank. It came with an RBA deck and a couple of premade 0.5 coils. One was installed inbetween the posts on the deck already so all i had to do was feed some organic cotton through it and trim etc.

So ive been using it over the weekend. I took it apart to sort a leak out (the little screw on the side) and when i looked at the coil and cotton, the coil looked considerably darker along with bit of the cotton.

I put it back together and it vapes fine. Normally when ive used pre made coils you can look in to them and theyre all black and have crud all over the wire. They also dont vape very well.

Wanted to ask the question as my coil and cotton look abit... clogged up but it still vapes well. Will i notice the difference when its time to change, like the pre made coils?

Thanks
As many have said, when it gets to thay burning taste and you keep getting the burning even when liquid is applied.

Or you see your coils are real gunked up. Can usually burn that off and then re wick

Good info posted above.
There 2 types of wick vapers.
1x change per day.
1x change every few days or more.
I changed my wick daily only due the taste going off overnight.
Dry burning coils. Get a cup. Fill it with water. Heat and then dunk it in the cup. Do this a few times and your good.

I change my RDA coil probably twice a year, and the cotton once every few months, and dry burn the coil at the time.

I do push it to the limit in regards of taste at times I'll admit.

I have a Geekvape Griffin which I use a relatively 'clean' juice in, and have had a pair of Clapton coils installed for over a year. I dry burn and rewick once a week, and occasionally dip the coils into clean cold water after dry burning to clean off the last vestiges of any gunk. They are still performing consistently well, and show no signs of deterioration.
All this talk of re-coiling daily - pah!! LOL

I change wick when i feel it needs it but the coil in my merlin has been in their 8 months as with everyone else a quick dry burn and clean, new wick and back together.
