Hi folks, first post so forgive me :)

I've got a smok prince and was buying prebuilt coils but got sick of buying them so bought an RNA deck for the tank.

I don't want to start wrapping my own could just yet but I want to to buy the elements that you screw into the deck and then wick yourself (I've got my cotton bacon ready lol)

Can anyone recommend a brand/make please?

Thank you

:hello: and :welcome1: to the planet....... I dont own a Prince RTA so sorry i cant really help you much there but i do own a Big Baby beast with the RBA and if i can remember right i use to use clapton coils in mine its been a while now since i put a build on it but i sure another ape will be with you soon to give you more help all the best mate..........

I have a few Smok RBAs (Baby Beasts and Spirals) and I am using Claptons. I don't wind my own either. I bought a 48 piece sample pack by Demon Killer from eBay, to get an idea of how the different types perform. Mine was £3.59 delivered from China, they cost a little more from UK vendors if you want them quicker.

Well done for calling them elements rather than coils and Welcome.

I bought a 48 pack of prebuilt coils from ebay from Vapefly for about £7 I think. Had 8 different coil designs, from the basic clapton to more exotic ones like fused aliens, twisted ribbon coils, etc. Just screw them into my Blitzen RTA and wick.

They all worked well but I didn't notice that much of a flavour improvement from the exotic coils vs the standard clapton for it to be worth the effort in wrapping them myself. So now I just run a spaced dual coil with clapton wire at 0.5 ohm. I prefer spaced coils cause I don't have to deal with hotspots, coils don't gunk up as quick and cotton lasts longer.

So if you're buying the coils, Id suggest get a multipack and try them all out. See if there's one in particular that jumps out at you. If you wrap them yourself, just stick with claptons. If your deck has the space (never had the rebuildable deck for the prince so I'm not familiar), try a spaced clapton

Exactly my experience too. As an experiment I was going to get some plain round wire and make some spaced coils wrapping them around a 2.5mm knitting needle and see how they perform. I have gone through the theory of 'coils' with an Electrical/Electronics Engineer with nearly 60 years experience and he reckons that a large portion (not all) of what is put out by the 'vaping industry/community' on the subject of 'coils' and ohms law can be described as 'bullshit baffles brains'. I also got a long winded lecture on why they aren't coils and are heating elements.

If at anytime you decide to wrap your on coils get yourself a spool of Brochome works really well in the Big Baby Beast RBA so iam sure it will be the same in other RBAs too............

That is worth knowing. Thanks.
