Why are 18650 batteries better than 14650?

From what I have looked at so far I think if I go for a mod that takes the 18mm batteries then I would be best off looking for one that has a range of different battery cases, or one that has extra sleeves that can be screwed in position to lengthen the mod to accept longer batteries. Telescopic ones might be more convenient, but from what I have seen so far the telescopic mechanism significantly increases the external dimensions of the mod which is obviously something I would like to avoid.

Does that sound like sense?

yep, don't limit yourself....I work 12 hour shifts 2 mods with 18650 suit me but 18500 mods can be petite....
actually, come to think of it the pisces t from shmovapes migt fit the bill

I do like the telescopic mods but as you said they can increase the diameter, that said they all state the diameter when buying.

Diche there are several mods out now that aim to be as small as they can be. It is worth looking at the fortune ob in18650 and the 4nine. Both are tiny in 18650 mode. You are most likely to find one of these on the classifieds though.

I had a sim journey, MVP2 then bought a mini lambo 6 which is a dinky mod, but couldn't cope with the short battery life, I now have 3 stingrays and use them in full 18650 mode, stick a Taifun on top and you can literally kill some one with the weight of it lol. Start pumping weights now, you will thank me for it in the future... Joking apart the quality of the vape, and the sheer prettiness of the mods far out weigh the cons of size and weight. Xx

yes and then you have the short and fat 18350 (which is the one I do prefer for mech mods) not to heavy not to light just seem just right for me

I thought long and thin was better than short and fat (?)

there's a bewildering array of shapes and sizes and designs of mod out there.

As far as batteries go they all put out the same voltage, but generally speaking the bigger the battery the longer it lasts between charges. The larger the size the more "stuff" it has inside it. the more stuff it has inside the longer it lasts.

When you choose a smaller size of battery you're trading off size for stamina effectively.

size vs stamina lol

Well I stayed up far too late last night researching this stuff and watching reviews. (including the 4nine and the Fortune mod :) ElsaBubs ) I have a feeling tonight won't be much different lol so any more suggestions are gratefully received. I am not planning on buying straight away, but if I know what I want then I won't risk missing out if a good deal comes up in the classies.

I think I might put together a data sheet for the next person looking for small mods, so far we have
Pisces T
Fortune 18650
4nine

If you are OK with an MVP then you won't have much of a problem with most Mechanical MODS. I Vape in 18650 in the evening time and an MVP2 as my All Day Vape MOD I would say that the weight is similar to (probably less than) an MVP and "smaller/thinner" in hand. Most MODS are better looking than the MVP in my opinion as well!
