Why didn't I think of this before

Yep I've had plenty of those 'duh' moments! - still do when something obvious pops up in a thread that I didn't know about.

My last 'Duh' moment was with premade coils having too high Ohms for what I wanted, answer was simple but it was months before the penny dropped, unwrap an end (5 wraps into a 4 wrap).

It sucks as I got made redundant but am now on sick benefits and I have to go to one of those assessments soon and I bet they say I have to go on job seekers and get a job, even though I cant stand or sit for very long and I am waiting for hip surgery. So no one is gonna give me a job anyway.

Haha get used to it, it's part of the learning process, it's not being dense it's just things click into place, when I first joined I learned something new on here almost every day and still learning

They done the same thing to me and ive got a number of things wrong with me i end up having to go to court which took about 6 months ..........

So I decided to stick in two the 430 coils I had stretched a little. They are coming out at 0.15 (I know it should be a bit higher) and I'm running it at 70w preheat 38w and 232c and it appears to be fine. Hitting temp and staying there.

Glad you found the sweet spot, interesting it only needs 38 watts, I might actually try this setup myself.

I bumbed the the wattage uptown 50 and to 240c to ramp up quicker

I assumed that as pre-mades now came in lovely packs, and TC chips have become grander and more powerful, that they'd work as is. I've only done one tank with a pair of 316 Claptons since getting a DNA250 and was not remotely impressed - time to revisit now the obvious has been pointed out!
