1st go with Igo-L & Igo-W

My first attempts at coils & wick. Seen cotton wool used in a youtube video so thought i'd give it a bash. As you can see one had a hot spot which i didn't notice and burns the juice. must say was easier than i thought. I've tried the squid ink and snake oil both taste really good. I'm going to try again but use silica wick (once I actually get round to ordering some) what diameter would people suggest I was thinking thicker maybe about the 3mm mark



I used 200 micron 32swg kanthal wire but the resistance only came out at 1.0 and 1.1 I was expecting a lot higher so neither will fire in the vamo.

I feel i need to make the airhole bigger so any suggestions for equipment to do this ???

cliffo do you mean widening the airhole?
I only ask as i have an igo-s which i really like, if a wider airhole gives better results i would be even happier!

I found 1.5mm is perfect for the igo l , for single coils , i have got one that i made 2 mm and for me it's a bit to airy and mutes the flavour .

Would an Archimedes drill (Push motion) and metal drill bit work or will I have to invest in a dremel type drill ???

Yes I'm tight don't fancy spending the £40+ on something i might only use once.

I use the Dremelalike for no end of little jobs and it's a boon for polishing mods. The pain with drilling holes is that some hand tools just don't spin fast enough, mine has a low rpm max...so I pop the bit into a 240V drill to get the jobs done. Lube helps, especially on the W as that bugger has thick walls!

I have twin 2mm airholes in my W for cloud bursting, 1.5mm in one L and 2mm in the other so I can build to suit the juice and wick. Around 1ohm is great for dripping on mech mods although I usually use coils summing up to 0.6/7ohm in the W or the Trident.
