been wondering how cigs would a 3 nicotine be. i'm thinking of going down to half that. how many cigs would that be?

3mg nic doing direct to lung is essentially times by 4 which makes 12mg. The average fag has 12mg nicotine in it. So the answer is 1

same here. i dont know the answer and honestly dont care. as long as i dont touch a cig again im not worried how much nic i have as its as bad as coffee.

Exactly what @MrDJ said. It's not as simple as saying that 3mg nic equates to X cigarettes. I go out with my mates who all smoke and one night I might go out with some 6mg nic in my setups and vape when they smoke, but then another night I might go out with the same setups with 12mg nic in them and vape exactly the same as I would with my 6mg setups.
The length of time you drag on your tank for will have an effect on the amount of nic you are taking in as well, so one person might be taking 5 second pulls whilst another might only take 1.5 second pulls using an identical setup, but both are satisfied of nic cravings as that is their style of vaping. If you aren't craving ciggies then you're getting your nic cravings sorted.
Give 1.5mg a go and see how you get on. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work for you and you move back up to 3mg again. Good luck buddy

I really don't understand those things, someone who is a 'light smoker' is someone who goes long periods of the day without smoking, switching to 3mg is not going to work for those people unless they want to go from being a light smoker to a heavy vaper. ... which I'm not convinced is the best idea.

A social smoker, i.e someone who only smokes when out with friends for instance, is obviously not addicted to nicotine at all, so if they want to vape they should be using zero nic.
