Hi I was under the impression ethyl maltol was a sweetener so why am I seeing recipes with both ethyl maltol and sweetener in
a bit confused anyone!!!!!

EM is a very mild Sweetener (to me anyways) I only use it if a mix feels... "dry" It's hard to explain! I user the Sweetener because its more of a candy sugar kind of sweetness vs the EM's juicier mild side.

I've just mixed up some Capella flavours I've added ethyl maltol if it needs it can add sweetener at a later date during steeping ?

Sure can :) The best thing about mixing for yourself, you can do whatever you want with it and if it tastes good, you did right!

the 100ml i made of my KMSy4 is down to about 10ml now. Which irritates me cause the OH has half a litre of RY4, he should have left my stuff alone!

I know exactly where your coming from my wife nicks all my nice juice :pie:
i can feel a booby trap coming on :diy:

Ethyl Maltol is the candy floss smell in candy floss. It is slightly sweetening but its main use is a s a flavour enhancer - it can 'pop' some dull flavours into life. PA's sweetener is sucralose based and is just a errr sweetener. You can add either EM or sweetener at any point in a mix, but 2 things

a) Ethyl maltol will react with your juices and is best steeped
b) Add anything after your initial mix and you will dilute both the flavour and the nicotine content.
