Hi guys,

I quit smoking at the end of last year and had a few goes on a mates ecig the other weekend and, to my surprise, quite enjoyed it. A good amount of smoke and a fairly realistic kick in the back of the throat so I decided to take the plunge.

He has a protank 1 but I decided to head upmarket and invest in the protank 3. To go with it I bought a vision spinner 1300 battery. All turned up yesterday with a couple of liquids, both nicotine free to start with.

After charging the battery and assembling the kit I spent about 20 minutes and half a bottle of juice trying to stop it flooding until some web reseach told me not to draw too hard. I had been sucking the life out of it so once i'd stopped doing that I started getting reasonable amounts of smoke but no real kick when inhaling. I also noticed it was quick gargly when drawing.

As a newbie I'd really appreciate some advice. Am I doing anything wrong ? Is the kit compatible or are there better options ? Would the juice with nicotine in give a better kick ?

Thanks for your help.

Mark

I have no experience with protanks myself so someone else will probably come along and help there.

As for throat hit, you will get none from zero nicotine juice. :(

:welcome2:As above said, no nic, no throat hit. Also, if it's still gargling, you still might be sucking too hard.

for the gargling i would suggest removing the coil and blowing up into the center pole with tissue on the mouth piece just in case you have come liquid in there, i did this on my evod and it fixed my gurgling problem

Thanks for the advice, guys, looks like I'm in the market for some nicotine juice then !

markveale welcome! Have a look at Dark Star Vapour, currently have 6x10ml juices for a tenner which is great value. Can recommend the Lime

Welcome to the planet. What they all said plus, if you do get a good amount of smoke from any ecig then stop using it and find out what the problem is. No ecig should ever produce any amount of smoke unless your dry burning the carbon off your coil.

You also won't get any throat hit or satisfaction from zero nic. Never used protanks so can't help there.

Hi @markveale and welcome to the planet. Most clearomisers and tanks with pre-made coils sometimes have problems regarding the gurgling, as you rightly say drawing on them too hard can be a cause, another reason can sometimes be too much liquid flooding the coil. The use of a second small wick placed on top the coil can cure this most of the time. Some do come with a piece on top but I have found in the past that they were just a couple of strands which were never enough. In this video the guy mentions at 5.10 he had heard of varying problems from people with the PT3 and perhaps he was lucky to get a good one. I have not used one myself so cannot really comment much further on it, lastly on a lighter note, try and get out the habit of refering vapour as "Smoke" :grin2:
