I don't know why they don't also do mandatory testing before allowing entry, regardless of nationality or status. Surely they've had more than enough time to set something like this up, linked to a database. Yes it'll slow down arrivals, but better safe than sorry eh?

From reading accounts around the World, other countries have, I just assumed we'd have followed suit from the start

Plus, to go on a 14 day holiday, you'd need to take 4 weeks off work to allow for self-isolation.

Easy answer, holiday in the UK as there are plenty of nice places to visit, plus every little bits helps towards our economy. No isolation required

Definitely an option that a lot of people might take up, yes. But for those of us that prefer to holiday abroad it's a bit of a pain. Maybe next year will be a bit easier? Although hopefully by then we will be living by the coast in Poland, if we can get this fucking house sold.
