here we go again....another idiot giving everyone bad publicity.

using a charger suitable for an ipad or iphone. probably too much current for the crap device she had, although the woman is trying to blame the charger.

if the charger is to blame, why on earth is there a picture of a fried device in the article...

some people are lucky they breath by default and do not have to actually think about it.

Is it a bit silly to use a cigarette charger to charge a e cig battery on I thought that was a no no

was a bit worried when i read the header of B&M as didnt know there was a discount store with the same name.

could understand if the mod was green then it could of been confused as an apple but the silly mare had plugged a bananna into a apple charger. what the bloody hell did she think would happen.

oh yeh, as said, "think" thats a bit difficult for some people.

and the award goes to Charlotte Bellis

she not know your only meant to charge them with a 1 amp plug?? people should be told this when buying. use the right amps to charge or it will blow up while charging. or worse

Oh gawd, it would have to be someone from round here

The device’s box said it is suitable for iPhones, iPads and for general use as a charger. It also claims to be ‘certified by Apple.

Well thats a load of bollocks then, because iPhones have never used micro USB. Only either 30 pin or Lightning.

What about my devices which charge at 2 amps?. If I used a 1 amp plug then it wouldn't charge at 2A would it. Also the current draw is decided by the device not by the plug. So the device pulls the amps it requires, it will not pull more than it requires. Using a 2A plug with a device capable of charging at 1A is only going to charge at 1A. Obviously this was a cheap device with poor charging circuitry and/or faulty. Or the cable was a piece of shit or damaged because of yanking it out of things by the wire. Instead of removing from the device with the connector. A lot of cables say they are certified by Apple. This is also more bullshit. The chips inside Apple Mfi products cost more than what the cables are sold for.

As said the device decides the current it draws not the plug. I don't know of how many cars have a 240v wall socket installed, but she was driving so how can this be an iPhone charger/plug. Its just a micro USB cable. The only way it could have been charging is via a power bank or the 12v socket in the car with a cable. A micro USB cable is a micro USB cable, it doesn't have to be tied to a specific device.

B&Ms fault for sourcing the cheapest Chinese shit out there.

I don't really see how she is at fault with this one unless she used a damaged cable. Everyone charges their phone in the car from the 12v socket so why is an e-cig any different. EDIT: But she's a twat selling the story!

No probs. Sorry if my post sounded bad tempered. Read it back and it does to me, but didn't mean to be if thats how is comes across. More of the frustration at the article bullshit. People actually get paid for writing this? Bunch of cunts.

Charging at 2A can decrease the overall longevity of the cells. 0.5-1A is best if anyway.
