Another intent quitter!

Hi all,

Yep, another newbie lurker decided to join up gotta say tho the advice on here is top notch, still ain't managed to completely cut out the dirty old oily rags just yet even tho I've cut them down dramatically so I need some help from you guys please.
I've got my all day vape setup just right with the nautilus 2/manabush setup so no complaints there, but I've just upped the game with the vandy vape berserker and thanks to your helpful advice I've ironed out the leaking/wicking issues so all good there. Only issue I have now is the drip tip is getting very hot, flavour and throat hit is great though. I have the following setup:
Smok mag
My built coil for the vandy vape is reading 0.224 ohms, using a 316 steel 6mm wire with 7 wraps. My coil calculator recommends between 36-70 watts but the tip is getting way too hot at just 36, tried it at 32w and it's only just bearable but I feel I need to go lower, is this recommended, from what research I've done I should be going higher?.....please help as I feel I've nearly nailed it but I don't want to risk my kit or my eyes

What awg is your SS wire mate?
The berserker gets a touch warm at lower wattages for me personally but i use the mtl fused clapton wire in mine to mimick the original coils it came with. If i was using SS316 id probably go for 6/7 wraps around a 2.5 or 3mm id using 28awg for a 0.7 ohm ish build that would be comfortable around 14-17w (ish, subject to opinion).

To be honest mate, it just says 6mm so I'm guessing 22-23awg? In all fairness the fella in the shop gave me the wire as a freebie to start with but I've seen that mtl wire so I'll order that, I'll still try ur steel setup above cos I'm using 0.7 in the nautilus and that's the style I like, thanks for ur help.

I`m new so i could be talking crap but isnt the vandy vape berserker for mtl, so coil should not be below 0.7 at lowest and a lot lower watts. ( it`s only from what i picked up on youtube - watched a vid - vaping with vic on the berkster )
