What's new

Another newbie

Your'e not wrong!! awaiting delivery of a Hcigar kayfun 1.3 with all the bits and bobs as i want to start making my own coils. Also looking at a 2nd mod and keep getting drawn to a provari but seems a hefty price tag compared to a vamo. Any opinions would be appreciated about provari's or any comparible mods.......cheers

The KayFun 3.1 is an awesome device once you get the hang of it. I have the Fasttech version and once I managed to dial in the perfect coil/wick, it's been phenominal! The Micro-Coil/Cotton Wick is my favorite combo right now. It's a balancing act getting the coil positioned just right over the air inlet. A genuine 3.1 is in my future.

The choice between a Vamo or a ProVari is really a choice between what you want and what you need. If you need VV/VW, then the vamo is it. IF you need a rugged device but can live with just VV, the ProVari would be a better choice. The Vamo is pretty large and it can take a little abuse, but not much. The ProVari is a lot smaller than it looks in pics, it's heavy and machined from stainless steel making it a tough little device. It also retains it's value, sooo... in the unlikely event you decide you don't like it and want to sell it off, you can recoup most of your money in the classified section.
It probably wouldn't hurt to try out the Vamo or something similar first and see if it's a style you like before dropping your hard-earned cash on the ProVari. If you go the Vamo route, do be aware that there seems to be issues with the 510 threads stripping out easily. Case in point... this poor soul:

Considering the cost of smoking, the ProVari is still a bargain being cheaper than 2 months worth of cigarettes.

Thanks for the advice. Looking forward to receiving the Kayfun and getting going on the coil/wick building. I already have a vamo and compared to the ego battery i was using it made a massive difference and i do like using the vw settings. I just read that a provari was the best and wanted my kayfun setup to be my number 1 with my vamo/nautilus setup as my backup (also have a couple of protanks and ego's for backups for my backups!!).Not sure how much the old stinkies cost on your side of the pond but i could afford a provari after a little over 2 weks worth of non smoking rather than a couple of months!!

We all love new and shiny stuffs love the shinytitus hodge! Awaiting my expromizer from germany anyday soon! Have the vamo v3 greeny is a brilliant choice vw and im looking at the aspire nautilus for the good lady for her battery now! Ill repeat it I gave up stinkies for health and pocket benefit and its not worked out that way its just health now!!

Sent from my GT-I9505 using Planet of the Vapes mobile app
I know exactly where you are coming from when you say health AND pocket!!! I'm far from being an expert but i love my Nautilus. I thought my protank was good but the nautilus is fantastic. Just beware, the tanks don't like to be dropped as i've found out to my cost!!!

Ahhh... You already have the Vamo! So you already know what you're looking for... Well, I personally don't own a ProVari but the ProVari mini is going to be my wife's b-day present.
I would say Go For It! There are waaaay too many proud, devoted, and sometimes rabid ProVari owners to be wrong! The ProVari/KayFun combo is one of the most popular set ups over here. Many own 3 or more!
I wasn't sure of the cost of a pack over your way either so I was being conservative! I could pay for a ProVari in about 2 weeks with the money saved from not smoking!
considering the wife just quit smoking last month, the money saved would only take a week...

Hello and welcome to the Planet Greeny!

- You seem to be doing well so far - well done and good on your kids for their great present!

- I have a provari and a vamo and use both almost daily (along with other devices!) and can highly recommend both.

- With moving up to devices with separate batteries, buy decent batteries and a good battery charger. Buying cheap is just not worth it!

- Mixing your own is a great way to save money and it's great fun to experiment!

- You will eventually get to a point where you're happy with your set-up and your urge to buy new things will lesson! So although it's costly to set up and experiment with lots of new toys, your spending will slow down gradually (something to tell partners when they moan about your spending!!).

Glad you've joined and hope you have fun here!

Welcome to the group, i am also new myself & reading & learning, this truly is the place to be for all things Vape
