Anyone Able To Create Peek Insulators?

Just curious as to if any of the apes here have the facilities to make peek insulators from solid rods of peek?

For set RDAs such as Mx, Airek, Doge etc

Wouldn't mind upgrading all my RDAs sure another ape here in particular would be interested too

Watching this thread, I'd love a few made for me.

Shot an email off to the company who sell the PEEK, highly unlikely but worth a shot too see if they'd hollow them out to set dimensions

Let us know what they say, I have been looking at this too.

Decided to order a short length of 6mm & see what amount of effort is required to sand/file a little from the diameter as on checking my various attys the centre of the 510 is just under 5.5mm (nearest drill I had to this size) and the actual centre pin is sorted simply by drilling whatever size hole through the PEEK is required.I'll post a response if I am able to repair the melted insulators on my Mephisto/Origen/W3 RDA's successfully.

(Though have already fixed the Origen with some thick card as it only has a washer that melted, the other end of the 510 still has a T shaped insulator of sorts that works)

Alright, keep me updated. I plan on using it with the RSST rather than a dripper though.

I got one of the fat daddy BF kits which comes with over-sized parts to convert my Mephisto into a bottom feeder and that was a huge PITA to do, the bits are so small that sanding them down is very awkward.
Hope you have more luck, let us know how it goes!

To convert my Mephisto V1 to BF was fiddly simply because I'm no longer as nimble fingered as I used to be.The final working version required nothing more complex than swapping the original 510 screw over to the supplied drilled screw in the kit.The V1 already had a hollow centre-pin and the large post holes still allowed juice to pass once coiled & wicked. The V1 had suffered melted insulators previously, repaired with robbing the insulators from other attys and modifying with a modellers knife. The V2 though, has such a tiny screw holds the centre-pin that the BF kit's supplied screw is too large a diameter to swap over so I'm going to try to create new insulators that allow the (now dead) V1 centre-post to be used in the V2.The V1's cap is a good fit on the Plume Veil base so the PV has been "retired" as it looks to be to complicated to convert the PV into a squonker atty.

PS:
I have an original Double-Cross that has "fire-proof" PEEK insulators & my Mephisto clones were supposed to also have PEEK insulators but the clones PEEK seems to melt in a bath of hot water.

I'm guessing PEEK can be turned on a lathe in the same way as delrin, if so i could have a go at making some insulators.
