are samsung batterys safe?

I would imagine our external vape batteries are a lot safer than some of the shitty lipo packs I've come across. Being aware of potential dangers and how to use them correctly is a very important thing and if followed there should be no problems.
An excellent point.

They're all now sitting there with a fixed stare waiting for their batteries to explode. Either that or they're on the phone to the local nuclear waste disposal team waiting for them to turn up in full chembio gear to safely remove them. LOL

Your comment made me chuckle.
Hopefully know one takes @Lung Redemption s comment seriously lol

As a private individual vaper I know there is no way I'll ever be able match the collective knowledge of all the expert vapers out there which is why I do my research and see what they recommend as being the best thing to do the job. I have 2 sets of 6 x 18650's that I use in my mods, both of which I researched first. One of my sets are Panasonic NCR18650B 3,400mAh 3.7V and the other set are Samsung INR18650-30Q 3,000mAh 3.7V.

I've had them for 2 or 3 years and never had a problem with them.

Don't go by the brand name though. Every brand sells some high end products and some lower quality versions of the same thing. Not all batteries are safe for vaping. The type of vaping device you are using is also relevent in deciding which batteries will suit your device best.

I like to sub-ohm between 0.15 - 0.3 ohm resistance at around 70 - 90 watts and I use 3 x 18650's in my mods which I feel spreads the load for using high amp discharge rates. Remember, you're putting the thing in your mouth and sucking on it so scrimping on cost and having your batteries blow up in your face is not worth the small saving you might make looking for cheap alternatives.

I never charge my batteries in the mod and only ever use a decent external charger. Don't try to charge them too fast. Most people recommend 300mA as being a good rate to charge them properly and help them last and stay reliable. And, as others have said, keep your spares batteries in a battery storage box and away from lose metallic things like keys and loose change that could cause them to short and potentially blow up.

Panasonic ncr18650b for vape use? What research led you to this conclusion?

Too many years ago to remember. They were my first set which I bought back in 2015 but I spent a fair amount of time reading up on which were the best rated high drain 18650's at that time.

That Panasonic battery only has a CDR value of 5amps.
Edit. You would only be able to vape around 12 or 13 watts without stressing that battery.

From memory I don't recall seeing anything around specific to vaping. I only started seeing recommendations specific to vaping a little while after I got them which was why I took another look before I bought the Samsung ones for my other mod. Whether the fact that I use 3 of them which spreads the load has made a difference I'm not sure. I've regularly used them since that time and never had any issue with them at all. I'm vaping on them right now.

[EDIT] Am greatful for the information. After over 4 years it's probably time for a new set anyway so I've found some Sony VTC5a's from SR-Vapes so I'll order those now.

Having a triple battery mod does make a difference, the load will be split between the batteries meaning you would be able to vape at around 40w with no issues.
4yrs is really good going lol.
