'......' astaire

My tuppence, for what it's worth...

In the world of manufacturing, many a profit has been made 'refining' someone else's creation. All above board and legal like.

If you gained access to the exact recipe for Red Astaire, then changed one ingredient for a very similar one then you have a unique product.

However, morally speaking, if you were to do that and make a profit from it, then that makes you a fucking leach.

For me, to directly copy and alter is wrong, but if you attempt to recreate from scratch (even using bought concentrates, assuming it's not theirs) then why not? It's all about approach.

Someone shouldn't have the monopoly on a taste. After all, many liquids are assimilations of popular drinks and sweets, and I don't hear many vapers complaining about that.

I don't agree with anyone using T-juice concentrate to mix and sell on for a profit, however if someone wants to create their own 'Red Astaire alike' from base ingredients and sell that I don't see a problem.

I'll quite happily drink Pepsi Cola even though I'm aware John Pemberton came up with the original Coca Cola recipe.

Yes a Red Astair alike called a different name but some have been in the past making it straight from concentrate and selling it as Red Astaire. Why someone would buy a fake juice and breathe into their lungs is beyond me, doesn't the word "profit" and "fake" concern you, fuck how cheap the VG/PG and nic will be and what else could be in it. But then again if they are stupid enough to do that then they are probably too stupid to make it.

if t-juice pulled it because of the above the then yes it effects me personally and pisses me off. If I walked into a shop and see some juice that was red, had astair in the name and tasted the same but wasn't t jiuce then I would happily have a face to face with the owner.

No keyboard warrior here so if any shops/sellers disagree and want me to visit I will happily do so.

Isn't this debate the same as copying anything ?

Its legal to copy anything you own as a backup however stuff is made available to make numerous copies, same rule applies I believe.

Its illegal to profit from any form of copyrighted material.

I don't believe you food flavourings have copyright and purchasing a flavour from any vendor allows you to use it however you like providing you don't profit from it.

Probably total waffle but felt I needed to post something.

Yea waffle, go copy it then, take some of t juices profit and they have less to invest in new juices while you do nothing. If you want to part of the industry respect others and make you own nice juice for us. I don't abide by the law, I respect others, treat them how I like to be treated and do what I feel is right.

Hit a nerve have we ?

Now now children it's only a concentrate lol nothing to throw toys out of the pram about lol

"yes it effects me personally and pisses me off"

Make your own mind up vendor.

Not quite sure what has upset you or how it affects you personally ?

I never once said it was right to profit from it I was purely saying once you have bought a concentrate you can do what you like with it, whether someone chooses to make e-liquid with it for personal use or throw it down the drain its a choice that person has.

If a post upsets you maybe you should take some time off, get out more, go for a walk.

This is a forum and lots of people post weird and wonderful things on here.

I bid you goodnight.

A decent juice is a decent juice no matter what it's called and a lot of juices have very similar tastes even though they're mixed by different suppliers.

I could see how adding 'astaire' to the name of a juice might tempt someone to try it... up to a certain point.

Not sure I'd be tempted to try one called smeg astaire though. ;)

Hated vaping until I tried RA so it played a massive part in getting me off a 30 fags aday habit. History tells me TJ could pull the concentrate from the market at anytime, vaping 10ml aday leaves me with a £5 aday habit if they do. I also think they sell the concentrates for us, the vapours and could make more profit without. So i think that's pretty personal to me.

With the above and the fact T-juice is from the UK in a small but very fast growing industry who have produced some great juices IMHO I would like to see them grow and make some more. Everytime someone uses "Astaire" they know exactly what they are doing, using a brand name for profit, illegal at the moment, no, wrong in a small self regulated industry, yes I think so. It's the law this and law that what got my goat mate, there is no law yet in this industry, you of all people should know that, 90% of your stock could be against the law in a few years time. Also your sit on the fence attitude while being a vender yourself quite surprised me, thought you would be right behind others. You make a nice juice or product and watch people scam it, think your opnion would change then.

So out of respect let them have their name and recipe and don't use it for profit, quite a simple view i have, if you agree with it or not. Look at the first post ....... Astair, .......Astair this, if it was a really nice juice then reviews, word of mouth, forums etc it would sell regardless of name. What we waiting for Pepsi to buy out the name and wipe T-juice of the map with a bunch of lawyers, yea great.

Think I have said my piece here and some more.

Bye.
