More than a month later, I've kept to vaping but she steadfastly refuses to try it, on the basis that her mate told her that "you don't know what poisons are in e-liquid".
Trying to explain that there are only a few basic ingredients, including stuff you can buy off the shelf at Boots, compared to the well-documented 4,000 'poisons' in her fags, falls on deaf ears. But at least she can't argue about the fact that that I'm only spending
some of the £250 a month I'm saving on shiny things and juices.
Our daughter, who is vehemently anti-smoking, is quite happy for me to sit in the living room vaping, while her mum is standing outside freezing.
And I've noticed I'm more productive at work, now that I can vape away at my desk rather than disappear for ten minutes every hour or so.
