I seem to be having trouble with ni200 builds. I use a standard 7 wrap of .4 on 2.5mm former. Vapour production is low and the atty gets very hot. An Identical build in kanthal works flawlessly. What am I missing?

I had the same problem with ni200 and tried many builds mainly 7 wraps set to 340 volts on temp control. Since then I have gone back to kanthal wire and never looked back.

What resistance does that read as?

What have you got the temperature on the mod set to?

You have a dodgy connection in there somewhere, 7 wraps of 0.4mm Ni200 with a 2.5mm internal diameter should be a coil of 0.06 - 0.07 ohms. So thats gonna mean your device is chucking more volts at the atty than it needs and generating heat wherever the poor connection is.
