What's new

Bare with us!

Debatable @KulrMeStoopid from a purely technical standpoint there is no issue ...

however we are 100px wider than than the given norm of a site BUT so are a lot of sites these days .. I suspect the given norm is likely to go upto nearly 1160 at some point soon

I remember with dread when the given norm was 640 for a site meaning you had to design about 580 *shudder*

Of course .. we could save the whole issue by as previously mentioned by someone .. putting in another line of menu .. and that may well happen when there is time to do it.

for now .. make yer browsers bigger

thats the Answer Finger ... your resolution is lower than the full width of the site.

to be fair .. we are a little out of convention in that the minimum recommended site with is to fit inside 1000 px and our is is 1100 ish .. but its rare to see 1024 res these days.

Except every mobile/tablet device pretty much uses that or lower. Its a PITA I know, I don't bother building for 1024 particularly but usually use a framework that is responsive to get around the desktop/tablet/mobile issue.

Sorry mate, yes - stretching it makes makes anybody looking at it happier.

What a carry on. :D

That is another option .. and one I personally employ often in builds ... Im sure at some point it will get site integrated .. or at the very least some portal size designated style sheeting

Like everything else there though, theres only so many of us .. and only so much time in a day .. and there is lots of other stuff going on to keep us busy .. including of course our real jobs!

so as an when there is time

bear in mind we are running on forum software .. and while we have done a lot to improve its functionality etc .. we aint had time to do everything .. some of it is just .. as it is!

by the way .. I have no droid to check on .. but on my iPad I dont get this issue ?

I understand how that one goes, most forums are dragging their heels with their mobile templating as it is - they never make it easy!

The shame of it all is that the mobile and tablet revolution started years ago and with the trend for web browsing constantly increasing across those devices you would think that the big forum softwares would have nailed it years ago - which they haven't.

It does it in chrome, dolphin and android browser at 800x400 and 1024 resolution for me.
