Batteries and charger for vamo

Thanks for clearing this up, battery rating (18350 vs 1860) was easy to google and work out, benefits of protected etc was my stumbling point. My last issue is flat heads vs ones with raised positive terminals a la normal batteries. Any reason why I shouldnt go for raised terminals? Being as its drummed into us to know by which end has a nipple its a nice idiot proof way of making sure I dont balls anything up

Mine are all nipple top. Looking up inside the Vamo it looks to me like either version would make contact, so would work. Maybe the flat top ones save a millimetre on the length? Have a look at this site, it gives actual dimensions for their batteries. Beware it's a slow boat from China shop tho if you fancy ordering from them.

The Vamo's protection won't let it work (or damage your battery) if inserted the wrong way round. Also you can use two 18350's stacked in your Vamo but more people say "for god sake don't" than say "I do it, what's the problem". I err on the side of caution and don't stack. Apparently if you stack you need to ALWAYS use a matching pair from new and can NEVER "single them down".

Hi Leek
Had the same dilemma, read loads and was still confused, managed to talk to a local vaper and I got the following, 18350 IMR unprotected (red/white bat) for the Vamo and 18350 protected (gold/black bat) fot the KTS Storm.
Hope this helps M8

Hi Leek
Congrats on the Vamo :2thumbsup:
I've got AW 18350 batts (Vapegear)and a XTAR WP2 II(Ebay 12.99) charger for my Vamo, i'm not a chain vaper so the Vamo in single batt mode will last me around 12 hours @ 4.2 volts on a Protank..
I would never stack 18350's and the Vamo will show LO in the window when the battery gets to 3.2 v
and wont fire...

I use unprotected Panasonic 18350 stacked and 18650's as a matter of routine in my VAMO's and I've experienced no problems at all.

As has been explained, the VAMO's will warn you when the battery has low voltage so as not to damage them by dropping the charge too low. The Xtar chargers are intelligent and have thermal sensors to stop overcharging and to stop the batteries cooking off during a charge cycle.

If you do use your 18350's stacked, be careful using atty's like the Innokin iclear's or CE5's,, the higher voltage can overheat and destroy the heads.

I'm also using the same 18650 batteries in my Smok SID's, they have the same protection and warnings as the VAMO's.

I watched a lot of video's on these devices that specifically stated not to use protected batteries before I purchased my kit. It would appear you can use either, but some people have mentioned problems using certain brands of protected batteries. Apologies, I can't remember what brands caused the issues, a Google search may turn up some further info for you.
