Battery charger quality

Some good advice been given.A decent charger is worth it. Xtar or nitecore.

I just bought a brand new inltellicharger Nitecore i2; from the first time i used it the batteries were getting slightly warm to the touch, then it stopped charging my 18650 batteries, once it stayed on 5 hours still on same indicator bar, didn't charge, then the 18650 got fairly hot, then it wouldnt charge an 18650 and an 18350 at the same time, then it charged an 18350 which was drained in like 5 minutes...so just shows that even so called "trusted brands" can be shite as well!!!!!

So what about an electric shaver or toothbrush, they both come with a 2 pin plug and adapter, is Braun breaking he law then?

I wouldn't leave anything charging unattended, no matter what....my thoughts are if it can happen it will happen.....better to be safe than sorry imo.

Double insulated and designed to be used in supplies with a pretty low power output. Bathroom power sockets have a very limited allowed current output (?100mA). The rules are different for these.

Excluded under schedule 1 (5) of the regulations

5. Any non–rewirable or any moulded–on Europlug (that is to say any plug conforming with BS EN 50075) which is designed for the purpose of connecting to a shaver supply unit conforming to BS 3535: Part 1 any electrical shaver, toothbrush or similar appliance; and for the purposes of this paragraph the expression “shaver supply unit” shall have the meaning given to it in BS 3535: Part 1.

Fair enough. So I shouldn't put a tooth pick in the earth socket to lift the gates then fit the 2 pin plug in my kitchen socket then ;) lol

You are all right of course. Just ordered a Nitecore i4. Just switching the plug on and off is giving me the heebies.

US is 110V and EU is 230V If you put 230V through an item designed for 110V that's not good. If it's a EU power rated charger then this isn't that bad.

The voltage to your house can be anywhere between 216 and 253 volts
