Battery help

When it comes to batteries it better safe than sorry.

If in doubt, chuck it and replace.
They are most likely fine but there is no way to say for sure and when these things go wrong, they go wrong fast

Fogstar and Ecoluxshop are both trustworthy sellers that stock 20700s but I think Ecolux only have the Sanyo 15a/4000mah ones

when i first made the step up to a box mod i charged in the mod until i bought a proper charger as it was made very clear to me on here only charge in the mod in an emergency, head over to @Ben fogstar and pick yourself up a decent charger for next to nothing and remember there is a POTV discount code and also there is usually a friday discount of 20%, perfect timing id say

I find it very hard to believe that a modern mod like a Captain doesn't have the basic electronics on board to simply provide a balanced charge to two 20700 batteries. If the manufacturer felt there was any danger from charging your batteries in the mod, wouldn't they cover their asses and say so?

Have to agree. The electronics in mods have come along way over time and this is a premium mod by a premium vendor. Personally, I would always use my external charger if I had it to hand but if I didn't, I would have no problem charging them in the mod and I have no problem with anyone else doing so either. Cheap, crapy clone, no. Premium mod from premium vendor, no problem.

If in doubt I just watch Phil or Daniel's review of the mod (if they have one) ... they always test the charging capabilities.

View attachment 141167 View attachment 141168 Hi guys i noticed that my battery has a tiny dent in it i thing it may be from charging. However i charge them through the mod. I just wanted to know if this is safe to use or if i should get rid of them asap.

Thanks

Seems as if the mod is too tight. Batteries aren’t all the same size, Inhave a tube mod with an adjustment screw on the bottom and when I change from one type of battery to another I sometimes need to adjust it. They can be about 1mm or so different in my experience.
