hi everyone.

Lately I’ve been getting the collection working, and found a pristine koopor plus.

The only issue is, with batteries fresh off the charger, it says low battery! A few of my other mods have done this as well, although my IPV 3 LI is my current go too mod and the cells are charged.

Is this a firmware error with some mods (I don’t remember using it which is why I am going too) or could it be my batteries are past their life?

I do feel silly asking as I recall I knew a lot until my head injuries.

Any advice? The contacts are very clean to the batteries, where it was hardly used, but even at just 28W it refuses to fire with the low battery warning.

Thank you all for your help, Conan

If it's happening with other mods then I guess it's the batteries. What charger do you have? Can it test the battery health?

I have a nutecore D4 and an EFEST LUC V4 (don’t laugh- at the time they was good chargers lol).

It happens on some mods if I use the 18650 converter where it’s for 20/21700 cells.

I did have a silly amount of batteries but I have no idea what happened to them, I now have two sets I try to keep married and about 2 singles.

Thinking about it, the 20700 doesn’t work properly unless in a mech. I gather it’s time to buy a new charger and some batteries, any recommendations on a charger that doesn’t break the bank but is ok?

Gotta be Fogstar, grab whatever xtar you can afford and lob some batteries in too, don't forget the discount code. :D

If in doubt-

Buy a pair of new batteries.

It shouldn't matter much about the age of your charger - if it cuts off the charge at 4.17 to 4.20 then that's good enough IMO.

It new batteries sort the problem then that is your answer,

I'm a complete idiot on the battery front - I have 16 old, well past their best before date Samsung 25Rs that I've totally abused over the years that now only hold about half of their original 2,500 capacity - but I keep them because they are still good for low power MTL vaping, but they are totally useless for anything else, I should rercycle - but re-use makes more sense to me

I would problem check by replacing the cheapest items first.

A pair of Samsung 25Rs are decent cheap 20 Amp cells for single battery use up to the 55W level, or up to 120W in a dual battery mod - if it isn't the batteries at fault at least you will have a spare set that you know are good.

Time isn't kind to batteries, lack of use can wear them out because they simply degrade over time.
I re-wrap my old, shit batteries in brown wraps - it makes sense to me.

The 25R is definitely a great all round cell at a good price point.

The nitecore is my oldest charger and it does cut off at the correct voltage, the Efest I bought for the 2A quick charge when I needed it, but that does need replacing as I snapped a pin so only 3 slots work.

Il have to buy a good amount of batteries though, keep a few sets together and some single.

Something I forgot to mention in my last post - as a one off try charging your batteries inside the mod via USB to see if your charger is at fault. I think it is unlikely to be the charger as batteries do wear out over time but chargers seem to work fine until they die completely.

I have a dual charger with a broken spring in one bay - I just use it as a single. I wouldn't replace your charger if you have 3 slots that still charge, The springs in a lot of chargers seem to be the weak spot - but I wouldn't throw it until it dies completely.

Edit: The Fogstar Code is POTV20
