I have been led to believe that there is a positive ecig piece on the show this morning airing around 20 past the hour.

Not too bad. The usual glamorous ads argument but otherwise ok.

It looks like it might be a trail for a longer piece showing up somewhere.

Oh bugger - it's now 40 past. Just hope it comes around again. Thanks for the heads up JustDave

Very good article for once. Clearly said that nicotine is not the danger and that vaping causes no more risk than drinking coffee. Hardly showed any cigalikes and also showed proof from ash that vaping was not attractive to kids (who are just not interested). The woman from ash was brilliant and even pointed out that us vapers don't like the term ecigarettes and prefer terms like personal vaporiser instead. She was able to answer every criticism with fact and non aggression. Nice start to the day :)

Wow, that is a real change!

Yep. I thought she was very good. Quite refreshing.

Just watching it on iPlayer now... 07:23 it starts

Apart from the fucking noisy bints in the office drowning it out through my headphones on MAX volume. They all clearly had their bowls of chatterflakes this morning.:hmm:

I caught this before heading out to work last week, and it was nice to see a lack if commentary which raise the "O rly?" reaction in me.

Seems each time one 'fact' anti-vapers is repeatedly questioned and reasonably argued, there's another equally idiotic argument against vaping, the current one here seemingly the attractiveness to children.

Nice to see my boss in what seemed to be stock footage too! :-)

I caught this piece on iplayer too.

Whilst it was nice to see Ms Arnott defending vaping in a general sense, I still wouldn't trust anyone from ASH as far as I could throw em. Their official stance is that they cautiously welcome vaping as a harm reduction tool but they recommend medically licensed products (as seen here : http://www.ash.org.uk/files/documents/ASH_715.pdf).

Given the amount of funding ASH receives from pharma companies, I expect to see a bit of a shift in their stance come 2016 when the MHRA takes up control of regulation. The fact that the MHRA is also heavily funded by pharma corps (kind of odd that the body that 'polices' medicines is funded by the same companies that manufacture them isn't it?) means that ASH, MHRA and big pharma all basically piss in the same pot and the ones coughing up the cash (big pharma) will no doubt be directing policy.

I reckon we'll see a more pronounced demarcation in ASH's advice develop, with medically licensed, pharma produced products being hailed as 'good vaping' and thus recommended by them, but anything else being dismissed as 'bad vaping' which is potentially harmful and to be avoided.

So whilst it's welcome to see ASH apparently showing support for vaping in general at present, the phrase beware Greeks bearing gifts springs to mind.
