Better than a subtank mini...

Hi POTV!
So I have a subtank mini and I learnt a lot with it but I needed more and began a dripper phase to experiment.

I now have been very happy with a Tugboat V2 clone for about a week but need a very reliable tank that matches, or at least comes close, airflow wise. (am i asking too much?)

I feel I need to suck hard on the subtank mini w/rba deck, too hard. Are there solid reliable tanks that beat the subtank on airflow?

This tank will be on film shoots and need to be as reliable as a subtank mini or better for leaking.

So far:
Orchid V4 (tobaco)
Goblin
Delta II with RBA

Any other suggestions or advice? :)

I've got both a subtank mini and delta 2. The airflow on both is very very similar, so if you're looking for something with more airflow, I wouldn't suggest the delta.

I've never used a tugboat v2 so can't compare the airflow to anything I'm afraid.

I'm surprised you feel the need to draw hard on the subtank mini with the RBA. Are you sure you're not covering the air hole too much when you build? Make sure the coil is off the base a few millimetres.

mmm you're making me think this is a build error now :)

I'm doing 24g on a 3mm drill bit (bout .5 ohms) sooooo.... yes, i think i might be blocking things a bit :)

I will do a rebuild on something thinner and see as this is probably my issue.

Will post back to update :)

EDIT: UDATE - Yes this has fixed the issue! I bought a 3mm jig and just built those in the tugboat so figured it would be fine in the subtank. For me , it wasn't :) !!

Sooo...

Even though this issue is resolved I still want to buy another tank :) Shinyitus is on maximum ha!

Since posting I'm thinking the Delta II or the Goblin... If the Delta II and Subtank mini are even enough for airflow is the Gobin better? I've been reading on this forum and it certainly seems that way.

Yey I'm glad your issue is resolved! There's so little room to work in the subtank it's easy to block it up.

I believe the goblin has better airflow - I'm sure tobywonkanobi can tell you as he has a subtank, delta and goblin so can compare for you.

If you want huge airflow the Freemax Starre is immense. My Goblin is en route and can't wait to see how that compares

I gots a goblin, airflow is like just breathing - prob less restrictive than just breathing. Taste, errrr early days - the jury is out.

I am less than a few moments away from buying one tbh.

Drip tip suggestions? :)

Was looking for something like the tugboat v1 in matching colour as it has a delrin insulator and I read that the Goblin can produce a hot drip tip.

Any thoughts?

Goblin. Airflow is massive compared to subtanks. Only had mine since Saturday but I'm loving it. Bit thirsty though.

I love the flavour from mine. Beats the Subtank mini hands down.

Not gonna lie, fave tip is the one off the subtank atm. Not noticed it getting overly hot, got mine coiled at 0.36 - what heat it has though it holds on too.

Its a bugger to build on, although im pretty new to building.

If you grab a delrin tip i can recommend signature tips - got a long one for when i'm feeling lazy, superb.

Cuck.
