BP Mods TMD Boro Community Review

This thread smells like teen fanboy...

It is the TMD test thread, after all.:18:
But, in the end, it’ll be cost that make up my mind. And I doubt the TMDs will be, for me, cost effective. Especially with the prices of SMRT kits as they are. But I think it’s closer than I thought it would be.

I was mistakenly sent some Vaporesso 0.6ohm GTX coils last week (I ordered 0.2ohm GTIs) but rather than send them back I thought I'd try them in the TMD and I'm actually very impressed. The flavour is just as good as the 0.3ohm TMD coils and they're a few quid cheaper per 5 pack too. If I get good coil life out of them I might have the try the 0.2ohm version next.

EDIT: I'm an idiot, it's the 0.2 GTX I've got! Running lovely at 45W.

A thorough review as we`ve come to expect from our community.
I`m trying to get my head round the longevity of non OEM coils, how can a stock coil, all things being even e.g. juice, wattage, length of puff (time), air flow etc. last longer in this device?
I`ve only recently been given the opportunity to try mesh stock coils and @32 watts with kanzi in the tank for the 0.2 coil, I got through about 60ml before the juice started to taste sooty, not burned but a definate drop in quality, so 100ml of juice or 10 days vaping and still going strong sounds brilliant to me.
If I owned the device to run the boro tank already it sounds an excellent choice, but if I were to splash out for the mod and tank would it give me an extra dimension to my vape?

@vapervince

I can only speak for myself here but I've never been lucky enough to get more than a week at most out of a stock coil, be it in a boro or regular tank. How some people can go for weeks on the same coil is beyond me. The brands/flavours I vape may as well be liquid sugar though, so it's the same with rebuildables too (boro and RTA) - I get a week at most.

So to answer your last question - will it bring an extra dimension to your vape? Probably not. Where this tank shines though is the build quality, leak-free seals, airflow control, effective anti-condensation system (the cotton plugs) and the variety of compatible coils. The resulting quality and flavour of vape may or may not be any better than any other boro tank/RBA but it certainly addresses many of the common annoyances and shortcomings that boro tanks can have, which make it very easy to live with and a pleasure to use. I've had a good few other tanks and RBA since we did this review but the TMD is nearly always in one of my devices.

Its one of the only BP mods products I don't actually own yet. I'm familiar with its workings, pros and cons nd suchlike.
I just don't use stock coils enough to justify the purchase.
I will get one at some point, maybe to pad out a vaping 101 order enough to get free shipping, maybe to give building and wicking a break for a couple weeks.

But overall given the choice I'd take a pioneer insider over the tmd boro any day.

The only stock coil I will use on a regular basis is a 0.5 ceramic euc coil. they last 4-5 weeks before loosing flavour and as for the bp mods coils I just found them tobe a real pain in the ass. they took a few tanks to bed in then it was like a dryhit every few puffs no matter wat coil r juice i used pg/vg wise and I tried all three variations

When I took the first mesh coil out of the atty I ran it under a warm tap and gave the inside a light brush with a 3mm interdental brush, packed it with tissue and forgot about it till tonight. the second supplied coil is starting to taste off so I`ve reinstalled the cleaned (or not) first coil, I`ll report back after I give it a toot.

Well it`s been a few hours since I replaced the cleaned up stock coil in the drag4 atty and I would compare the performance to that of a dry burned wire coil, how long it will remain vapable is a personal choice, I expect that tobacco and custards vapers will get more secondary use than fruits vapers from a cleaned up stock coil.
Is it worth the effort? I suppose it depends on how long you vape the coil before you clean it, I took the coil out as soon as it tasted sooty and before reinstalling after cleaning the cotton was hardly discoloured at all, the mesh you wouldn`t be able to assess without dismantling the whole coil. If I get half as long again from a cleaned up coil it will reduce the cost of 5 coils from about £12 to £8 so I`d say that for me it`s worth it, I use the interdental brushes on my wire coils anyway.
