A mate of mine is on her 2nd Eleaf IPower, and is looking to replace it - she has a habit of knackering the USB ports. She'd like something different this time. Ideally it'd be something smaller than the IPower, but with the 5000 mAh battery capacity. I've told her that's just not going to happen with a built-in battery mod.

She's thinking about getting a separate charger and batteries, which worries me a bit, as she's a chaotic numpty who doesn't understand anything about battery safety. I'm far from an expert on the subject, and I'm overly cautious - she's been my best friend for 31 years and I don't want to give her bad, unsafe advice. The power in these batts scares me a bit tbh.

Can any of you helpful souls put my mind at rest and give me some advice please? Are there any good new built-in battery mods with 3500 mAh+ battery life that I could suggest maybe? Or any single 20700 or 21700 (I don't know much about these) mods that would be safe to charge the battery in the mod. I thought the Vaporesso Armour Pro might suit her, if she could charge the battery in the mod ... urghh. I don't know ....

Innokin Coolfire Ultra TC150 is 4000 MAH, quick charging and quite compact. They are well made mods.

The Ijoy Katana is 3000mah, but is on offer for £25 at Evo. At that price, she could buy 2 and never be without a charged mod.

The Armour Pro includes a usb charging cable, so that suggests it can be charged with the battery in the mod

NX100 with a battery + XP4 charger.

Save £5 going for a white mod.

I prefer this mod over my more expensive Charon Mini, it's a no frills box, but it's a joy to use(shut off sequence aside, still love using it).

The charger isn't built to last, i've already broken the spring on one of the battery slots, but it's still chugging along and servicing batteries (i won't complain for a tenner).

I looked that one up. Hey look, another person ripping off my look. First that Vic character now this chick. I knew I should have copyrighted it!

Got one of these ages ago, misses wrecked it, but liked it so much I got another. Bargain plus, comes with 2, rated by Mooch as real good, 20700 batteries, battery sleeves, fires up to 110w and a Tank. Batteries remove super easy with no wrap scrape and I happily will charge them in the mod. Great little kit.

Isn't any single battery mod safe to charge over USB?

I thought we used seperate chargers to give a balanced charge to multiple batteries?

Just make sure not to "mix & match" batteries from other "wedded" batteries!

Mate I have zero issues charging a single and have had no problems personally charging dual either by usb. Now and then I take both out of the dual and charge them by external and to date both charge to full at the same rate showing no signs of one being weaker or taking longer to charge. I even now and then swap sides in the mod with them and still they show up even. I would not leave them at home unatended, as I would not do so even with an external charger, or when I'm asleep. But have I seen a big scary difference? Nope. My mods usb charged reach charge, I feel the charger during charge, yeah it gets warm but so does the external charger, but goes cool to the touch when charged. To date I have seen no battery issues where one is rubbish and the other good from the way I charge.
