Buying pre-mixed VG/PG

It seems a relatively good price, I'm just about to start experimenting with a bit of DIY...

It's a good starting point for people and there are quite a few here that do. I've just looked at the prices and for no nic base the price doesn't look that bad, however if you go for 3mg base @1liter the price suddenly jumps to nearly 30quid, this is imo a huge price hike and this equates to £16 for about 42ml of nic. To compare you can get 250ml of nic for 18 quid at darkstarvapour. Just seems an expensive way forward.

Looked into this a while back, it's almost always cheaper in the long run to buy separately and gives you more flexibility.

Is it okay to buy the PG/VG premix and then mix in my own Nicotine?

It is but remember you can buy PG & VG separately from people like Classikool or Lubrisolve on Amazon and eBay for less than half that price and then mix it to whatever ratio you find suits you best.

Ah okay I see, I'll just get it separately then. I've just ran some maths and I think I've gone wrong somewhere, buying 250ml of VG and 250ml of PG, 250ml of nicotine and 30ml of flavour, I've worked the price to be around £1.20 to make 50ml is that about right?

Batch Size - 50ml
Nicotine Strength 72 mg/ml
40/60 VG/PG Ratio
8% Flavour

VG - 13.36ml
PG - 28.47ml
Flavour - 4ml
Nicotine - 4.17ml

Forgot to mention that's going off buying the following from darkstarvapour:

TuttieFrutti flavour 30ml @ £3.50
PG 250ml @ £2.99
VG 250ml @ £2.49
Nicotine 7.2% 250ml @ £17.99

What nic level are you making, 6mg?the maths looks about right off the top of my head, it gets cheaper when you start buying bigger bottles.

Something looks off somewhere, you'd need 20ml VG to make 40% at 50ml, unless you're using VG based Nicotine.
