Hi all, had a search on the forum and also Google for this earlier today and can't seem to find the answer. Not sure if I'm maybe just searching and maybe not using the right word combination...

Is it possible to convert a mech into a regulated device?

Appreciate this may be the daftest question ever but still relatively new to this.

You may also ask why the hell would you want to and the simple answer is I found a custom build mod I want but it's a mech and the guys who build them don't and as such wont build me a regulated one. Second reason is I don't trust myself with a mech as I'm the kinda guy who would blow his face off on the first day.

Cheers for any help provided.

Depends on what kind of mech it is.
And how much room is available to put a widget in it.

As all you are really doing is putting a thingummy in between the battery output and the 510, as long as there is capacity for the kajigger, there are possibilities.

Post pix!!

Have you asked this question twice ?

No... first question was about a specific mech that I wanted to see if someone could build for me but a regulated version.

I was thinking though it might be easier to buy the mech and if enough space convert it to regulated.... just didn't know if it was even possible.

Edit... just realised questions may seem similar as I gave the same Rough back ground info on both posts... sorry for any possible.confusion folks.

Maybe a Kick - https://www.evolvapor.com/info/kick

Made for 22mm mechs, sits above battery & can regulate wattage. Old tech and maybe not much use since usually only 5-10/15 watts iirc but depends on how you prefer to vape. Also there's the issue of whether or not it will fit in your preferred mech. Hard to find nowadays though I may have one somewhere [that will also be hard to find, I'm afraid.]

Edit - if it's not a tube mech it won't work.

In that thing, probably not, it seems to be a 3d printed box so there'll be no room for a chip.

Have you had a look at the Noisy Cricket V2? It has a regulated series mode so there is a degree of safety. Failing that there is the HexOhms, same thing just a bigger more sturdy box.
But: any particular reason you want that box chipped? For sure it cannae be for the looks!!
Most current box mods will give out similar power and cloudage( depending on the atty, coils and wicking!) with a tad more safety features

As crazy as it seems I quite like it lol. Was thinking of going for a neon green piping with white top, bottom and on the narrow sides and then side panels in black with raise outline of batman symbol on the panels done in yellow or red.... last part I haven't decided on yet lol... massive batman fan and have been for years.

If I could get that done to a metal case and it was regulated then I would consider it.

The space is the issue boards are about 10mm thick with a mount plus you will need to cut the holes for the panel and switch gear it can be done on that mod but it won't be a duel battery unit it will go down in size to a single battery with board say a DNA 75 of alike

Unless you use a switch fest or mosfet to give some protection but then it won't be regulated

Be worth your time, if you have the funds, to go look for mod makers who will do them specs for you. i'm sure someone somewhere will print you the box in your choice colour scheme.
For sure there'll be some on that facebook malarky that might be up for the challenge.
I'm sure there are 3d printing files online that you can download, then fiddle about with, then send off to a manufacturer. But that's well over my gain line but have a looksee.

Failing that, plenty companies doing wraps for mods, could also be worth a swatch.

Depends on the mech, had a look at your other post too

Some box mechs can be swapped to pwm mods which is sort of regulated in that it gives it power control, with the two smallest I know of being the potbelly pwm by Swedish vaper (stealth vape stock them, literally fits to the bottom of the potentiometer to control it) or the smart pwm v3 (can use tiny tactile switches and it's about 24x10x3mm in size)

But you wouldn't get a vw chip in most mech boxes even the 3d printed ones unless it was a squonk box and you remove the squonk bottle (to just be a normal mod)
