Oooh, get me, first post in the Mixology section :D

Need some advice on %ages for Capella flavours, is there a good rule of thumb to start off with? I'm guessing final percentages will depend on the flavour/personal preference, but can anyone suggest a good jumping off point?

Vape Escape suggest starting at 3%, but I've seen recipes for much more than that.

Personally, I generally mix Capella at 14% to 15%, but choc type flavours I go down to about 10%

Agree with @leisureliquids with Capella I start at 15% then make any adjustments after steeping for a week..

So for 10ml = 1.5ml flavour + 3.5ml PG + 5ml VG for 50/50 or change to whatever you prefer your mix to be :D

Thanks both! I bought some DV flavours too, any similar advice for those?

Decadent Vapours, only used the Caramel concentrate I got in a swap and I mixed at 10%, it was fine but I had a Capella Peanut butter that was lacking something and I mixed the two together.... Lovely :D

Thanks :) So I reckon I'll try Capella at 15 and DV at 10 and keep some notes, and see where I go from there.

I'm prepared to make a few wrong uns but this helps me a lot to know where to start from :)

I have a little 'red' book with all my recipes and use the calendar on the 'puter for reminders to check my mixes...

Needless to say I have taken to mixing my own in a 'big' way :D

I'm hoping to follow your example! I keep buying fairly straightforward flavours (passionfruit, lemon, lychee etc) and started to wonder why I was buying them when I could probably do them fairly easily myself and save a bit of cash. I've already mixed some Sweet Tangerine at 15%, now I'll need to wait for it to steep. A note book is a good idea because I'm bound to forget what I did in between doing it and it being ready :diy:

Exactly man_d with age, especially for me, comes the 'why did I come into this room?' syndrome :D

So what you mixed a week ago definitely needs written down... It is good for improving later recipes too (I make little comments in the book too)
