What's new

Clegg Vs Farage on BBC2 is great viewing.

I tried to watch this while I had my toast and coffee this morning. I tried and failed.

Bickering guff between two white, male ex-public school boys. White, male ex-public school boys piss me off - and I am one. Which might go some way to explaining my sense of self-loathing.

Still, I can't help but think that as I approach my half-century I ought to be given the right to vote on being a member of Europe at least once in my lifetime.

Actually I find UKIP far less dangerous than the established parties. We know what we get with them. Gentrified Right Wing politics.
The established parties pretend to be one thing but are another and are brainwashing and forcing us to think how they want us to think.

Just watched it on bbc iplayer, farage wiped the floor with clegg....but one's as bad as the other....

I don't like or trust Farage particularly, I am uncertain how his policies could ever really translate on the whole but do agree with a few of his points. That being said though he had Clegg on the ropes for the entirety of the debate and came across very well, Nick Clegg stumbled, stumbled some more and then resorted to the same tactic from the general election debate of "where are you (audience member name x) - look at them and answer in a not at all convincing manner.

Clegg lost his mojo when he joined a coalition government and reneged on fundamental liberal policies and promises. Unfortunately for him, the shock performance he gave in the last big debate just looks forced and insincere.

In either case, no politician seems to be working for us in this day and age, it is all rhetoric.

Every politician of any colour isn't interested in the plebs, only interested in what can they screw out the taxpayer for themselves. Until this thinking ends, fuck them all.
