Hello Vapers,

I was just wondering what I would need to start making coils? I don't really have the money to buy a whole set with the tools in? Is there anything I can use instead of buying a set?

All you really need is a couple lil screw drivers, some diagonal cutters which can be had for a few quid on eBay, tweezers and some wire. That would at least give you a start

So just a lil screwdriver to wrap the wire around? and cutters and stuff for the rest?

Little blue screwdrivers are 2mm,nail cutters and tweezers or needle nosed pliers. I still use all of the above for 90 percent of my coiling needs. Cheap tools from poundland are good for the job

Or drill bits if you want exact variant coil winding 'jigs'.
Use the shank of 1.5, 2, 2.5mm etc. drill bit.

Could you run me through what all the tools i need are for? haha all i know is a little screwdriver to wrap the coils

I've never broughy a coil making kit or such like.

My basic kit consists of.

X1 set micro drivers
X2 sets of scissors for cotton.
X1 angled tweezers for cotton placement.
Wire, lots of wire.
Ohm reader.
Nail clippers

Job done. Its all you need.

X2 scissors, 1 for cutting cotton, 1 for cutting wire to size, scissors leave smoother finish to the ends of the wires amd stop you pricking your fingers. To clip wires once installed either use nail clippers or wiggle them off.

Excluding wire/ohm reader you can get going for less than a fiver.

My main tool kit has not much different to listed, i dont use clamps, swivels, power drills etc.

Its like everything in life, its only as complicated as you make it, my building base is a sweet tub with a hole in it.

The #1 tool for noobies is steam engine, the more you use it, the less you'll need it.

Depends if your device reads ohms, I used the istick for a while before purchasing one

I have the iStick 30w to start dripping on, I know it's not very powerful and stuff but just to learn and try out dripping and RDA's
