Coming off of cigarettes, need a tighter MTL draw to what my current vape offers

@gee

Thanks for the suggestions.

Just though of something... Do aspire filter tips fit the the Doric 20 mouth piece? Having used my 1000mAh Nevoks Feelin for a few days 1000mAh is only about a day and a half, so the bigger Doric 20 battery is appealing.

I think the Vilter has a proprietary drip tip, aka not 510, so unlikely the alternative filters will fit anything else either but you can buy the filter tips on their own so you could risk trying it.

@DeeDee aka (Pod Queen)

So I had a look through your reviews (at least I think they're by you... Diane?). They were all very helpful and I like the look of all of the ones you suggested except for the Aspire Flexus Q just because it's a bit too heavy.

Putting together your drawometer rankings for the devices:

XROS 2: 1/5 (so 2/10?)
Favostix: 2-3/10
XTAL Pro: 2-3/10

Where would you place the Doric 20 on the drawometer scale? I didn't manage to find a review for it.

I also came across your XROS Mini review and it seems like the draw is even tighter at 2/10. Is there any reason that you didn't mention it before? Perhaps some issues with the device?

And one last thing, sorry. Despite the issues you mentioned, I'm still considering the Aspire Vilter since it's the only one with a cigarette like filter. I assumed therefore it would be a tighter draw than the above devices but it's still the same 2-3/10 on the drawometer. A bit surprising!

Hey

Doric is a 2/3

I didnt mention the Mini as it doesnt have adjustable airflow but its a very tight mtl and i loved it. I do like the flexibility of being able to tighten or loosen the af though.

The vilter is good, nice tight mtl but the coil flavour and life isnt as good as others IMO

Great, thanks for the help!

A little update.

I bought the Xros Mini and the Vilter. The Xros Mini for a friend who wanted something more pocketable, and the Vilter for me. Had them for about a week now.

Starting with the Vilter. It really does feel like a cigarette and since I've had it I've had no cravings for an actual cigarette. The draw is extremely smooth and with the paper tip, it feels EXACTLY as tight as a cigarette. Before I had it, when I was using a Nevoks Feelin with a regular non-cigarette like mouthpiece, I would often get a craving for a 'real' cigarette (I gave up about 3 weeks ago). Now with the Vilter, those cravings are gone. Of course, this could just be attributed to the fact that I've now been off cigarettes for longer, but in any case I feel like it's much less likely that I will get a cigarette craving with this device compared to a normal pod vape. That cigarette like feeling and the small size and lightness are the biggest pros of the Vilter. I've also had zero leaks and condensation is very very minimal. For the cons, my biggest criticism is probably that the flavour is not great. Granted I've only been using one juice, but that same juice in the Feelin yielded much more flavour. Another con is the battery life and pod size. It just about lasts one heavy evening out drinking with friends. I wish they'd bumped it up to closer to 1000 mAh and at least 3ml, the size and weight difference would be worth it. However, once I've used it a bit more and assessed the pod life, I may just buy another unit to solve this problem. On that note, pod life does seems to pretty good so far. I've put about 10ml of 50/50 through it and haven't noticed any changes. Overall then, I'm very satisfied with it, mainly because it's tricked me into thinking I'm smoking a cigarette.

On to the Xros Mini. I've not really used it that much as it's my friends and also because they've been using a juice with it that I find absolutely vile. I will say it's one of the nicest looking pod vapes and the colour options are some of the best I've seen. The draw is indeed tight, similar to my Vilter, and very very smooth with no crackling or spitting. It kind of reminds me of a Juul (from when I tried to quit a few years ago), just a bit more chonk. It's not much larger or heavier than the Vilter, yet packs a more than double the battery capacity at 1000mAh. The magnets are also incredibly strong and that makes the pod feel very secure. The top fill is also great because it's so easy to refill and so far there have been no leaks and very little condensation. The lack of a button is also a plus since you never have to worry about it accidentally firing in your pocket. Overall I really like it, but 100% prefer the Vilter just because of that cigarette tip. Honestly, I think having a cigarette tip could be the most important thing for a new vape user coming off cigarettes. People really should recommend these style of vapes more to ex-smokers, not other pod vapes with regular style mouthpieces like Caliburns for example.

Glad to hear you're sorted, whatever gets and keeps you off the ciggies is all that really matters.
