Okay, so I have some experience in mixing pre-steeped juice, but this is the very first time I am mixing juice from "scratch" so to speak, meaning that I am using liquid nicotine, pg, vg, and food flavourings. I calculated everything correctly, and mixid it all together into an amber glass bottle, using 10% flavouring to start (haven't used these concentrates before, so I figured start at 10% to see), and of course, carefully adding the pure nicotine right at the end. I gave the bottle a vigourous shake, and have been keeping it, with the cap on and closed tightly, in a small cooler with a cold pack, actually I have two cold packs, and once a day I put the used one back in the freezer and replace it wioth the other one fresh from the freezer. Every time i do this (once or twice a day), I also give the bottle another vigourous shake).....I have been doing that for about three days now, and have noticed that the juice level seems to be settling a little lower, presumably because of the dissapearance of air bubbles?

Anyway, my question is, for those who have ezxperience with this, am I doing this process correctly, and if so, what length of time do you think is best. I know I can just try some and see what it tastes like, but I would like to steep it for the proper amount of time first - I have searched a lot of sites, and there seems to be varying opinions on how long is the optimum time to do this process for.

Any and all input is vcery welcome.

Thanks.

I hope you do not have (not uk strength) nicotine that is more deadly and illegal than you can imagine.Do not even think about touching os smelling it if you are that stupid as to have bought it.

Steeping, or "maturation" as it is sometime called, is, which ever way you look at it, simply leaving your juice a while before vaping. I'm sure that there are no "rules" or even guidelines as to how long this process needs to take.
Heat (well, warmth) will be more beneficial to the maturation of your diy juices, than cold packs.

I make 100ml batches, boil some water, let the bottle stand in the water till everything is cold.

Works for me...

Is that not classed as a poison under uk law?

Hope you did your research before buying, and especially vaping!

But as for the steeping, as someone who has mixed my own... its personal preference, as is with most things. I throw it in hot water for half our then shake the living daylights out of it.

Some like to leave it a month in a cupboard with the lid off, then on then off.

Try a few different things and see if you notice a difference, then go with the one you preferred.

more than 72% nic might be illegal in the U.K but providing you use the calculator and know what you're doing then why not??

Indeed, cooler temps for long term storage, heat for maturation.

A hot water bath, sticking it in a slow cooker, putting it in the microwave, resting the bottle on the back 'fins' of a radiator, ultrasonic baths... people do lots of things to aid 'steeping'.

You have to be a little cautious as too much heat will kill the juice.

You'll still get people who swear steeping is a myth and others who claim it makes a big difference, I'm in the latter category btw.

Fact of the matter is, leave it alone for two weeks at room temp and you'll be fine. Heat and agitation help combine the various elements of a juice, how you do that is up to you ;)

For me it's a whisk with a coffee frother when mixing the juice for a couple of minutes, leave over night, half and hour in an ultrasonic the next day and shake, leave it a day, another half hour in the USon and you're good to vape.

100% nic is not just a little dangerous it is seriously dangerous.Unless you are a trained chemist with all the appropriate protective gear it is seriously reckless.

According to some, a drop could kill an adult male. Thats a pretty cavalier attitude you have there.

Imagine what one nicotine related death could do to the world of vaping?
