I have been looking online without much luck so I thought I better post it, Are the connecting threads on Tanks and Box/Mods all the same or is this something I need to find out if I want to use a Box/Mod of one make and a Tank of another make ? any advice appreciated :)

The connection is kinda universal mate, pretty much everything uses it. Called a 510 connection

Yeah, as said, it's pretty universal. The only thing to be aware of is the diameter of the tank and the diameter that the mod can take. If the the tank overhangs the mod it will still work, but might look a bit odd.

It’s a good question to ask so other new vapers can see @WASD in Blue :) The only other type of connectors you see sometimes are the ones you will have on you FUSE. These are called Ego connections, for attaching to Ego batteries. These are almost always long and thin, like the FUSE, and while they’re ‘old tech’ now, they’re still quite often the kind of thing most of us started on, and many still do. You can get Ego to 510 adapters that would, for example, allow you to use your FUSE tank on a mod like the Tarot Nano you posted about earlier, if you wanted to.

Also worth mentioning that the vast majority of mods have a spring mounted self adjusting 510. But if you ever get in to the realm of higher end mods then it's not uncommon for the 510 to be fixed and without a spring. They need to be adjusted by hand to pair with whatever device you are using up top.
