How To Cotton Wick on a GP Heron - No Filler

Dragging this back On Topic, BD1 could you pop some pics up of your build/builds?

I've found the Heron to be very forgiving when it comes to coils and wicks. Everything I've put in it has just....... Worked.

*EDIT* Should be noted i'm running a clone, so this build may/may not work on the genuine article, might be better, might be worse, just thought i should point it out :)

Right i'm knackered so i'll just post pics for now and hopefully they'll explain themselves, failing that i'll come back tomorrow and edit the post with descriptions :D

Hole in the cotton topper is 4mm so makes sense to have a coil with the biggest hole possible without shorting, avoids creating a choke point in the coil and dry hits.

Looks funky hey? You couldw just snip the tail end off and press it down but then it's not going to do much apart from get a little burn't, i like to split the tail and run it around the edges to the business side of the coil to mop up any excess juice.

Wet it a bit and it's easier to work with, pressing it down into the gap.

The 2 outer ends you can now trim them a bit and place them under the middle one.

Finally, wet the main bit of wick and gently prod it down on the other bits.

Now you're ready to thread it through the cotton topper.

You could leave it long like above but i prefer to trim mine short and spread it out a bit, i've suffered the odd dry hit leaving it long, but also had the odd gurgle leaving it short, so decide for yourselves :)

After building this way a few times i've got it to work consitently well. No leaks. No gurgles. No boobies.
