Coughing on Vape

Hi there,

Completely new to vaping and got a Thorvap vaporizer. I've been using it on 15W but I keep coughing during inhale possibly because the smoke is too strong. Does anyone know how to fix this - I've tried adjusting the wattage to 13W but this results in a less flavourful vape. I might turn back to fags if I can't get the vape right...

What kind of liquid is it you are using and what nicotine strength? Some liquids can just be a bit harsh.

I wouldn’t go back to smoking fags, surely they must taste worse than your vape does at 13w?

Which model Thorvap?

If it's one of the ones with a subohm DTL tank and you're inhaling like one would with a cigarette it's going to make you cough...

Or what Zou says is perfectly valid too (for a change )

ive never heard of the THOR but looking at this its a rebadged istick which is a great little mod.
just to check, is this what you have Amazon product ASIN B071KVHPFS
firstly if that is the tank you have then it has a 0.5ohm coil which is for direct to lung which is totally different for a new vaper who is requiring similar to smoking which needs a mouth to lung coil.

the lower the number the higher the wattage needed but then the higher the wattage the lower the nicotine strength is best.
before i go into more details can you confirm that this is the kit you have.

Reckon @MrDJ may have pin pointed the issue if that is the correct kit.

If you are wanting off the fags and onto vaping as a healthier alternative, a high resistance (Ohm) coil with a more restricted (tighter) airflow will be far better option for you.

Should mention though that many many new vapers cough for the first few hours of using a vape. It's very common and nothing to be overly concerned about unless it's long term cough. Stick with the vaping though, you've made the right decision, keep away from the ciggies.

well ive had 4 years experience on here and and the majority are after mouth to lung just to kick the habit first and you will never know unless you ask, so i did.
not everyone is after chucking cloudz bro.

Wrong coil & wrong tank for quitting imho, you want a MTL
(a DTL tank even with a 1.2 coil is not the same as a dedicated MTL)

Buy a Zenith tank - job done

Zenith is not the be all & end all tank - but it is one of the most recommended
& will do what you need it to do with idiot proof ease
