Covid / Sleep Survey

Uncomfortable with the seemingly irrelevant data-mining questions so abandoned.
And there's a £100 prize draw.
Modern academia is weird.
I didn't mind the questions, I get that they might want to understand if certain sections of society might be more affected. I told them to stuff their prize draw though. :D

Fuck that, i’m in for the hundred quid!

It’s interesting though. I’ve been sleeping as normal, but quite a few work colleagues have been complaining about terrible trouble sleeping. I had assumed it’s the change in routine. Stuck in the house. But then the tone of the questions did get me wondering whether everyone is terrified. Panicking about impending doom. Existential angst. I wonder whether everyone will be having terrible mental health problems whenever this is eventually done?

For me it's worry, mostly economic ............... just keeps going round in my head. :(

I’ve had a bit of that too. Not that’s stopped me sleeping. I go through phases with sleeping, and am in the middle of a sleeping like a log phase.

But just an occasional general worry. I’m working from home, still on full wages and my job is reasonably secure, as jobs go in a situation like this. But it’s as though this has confirmed the precariousness of everything. Nothing is really secure.

I thought some of the questions were irrelevant but seeing as I didn't leave my email I answered them all.
Did you smoke or vape before ? Yes
Do you smoke more now !!!!???? No . What happened to vaping.
The sleeping questions could give false data though as they ask what your sleeping is like over the last 2 week's but not what it was like before.
It's the same for me. Bad then, bad now.

I thought the same. I'm crap at sleeping at the best of times. :D

I answered it, didn't bother with putting my name down for a chance to win the cash.

I'm not sure when it was first released as it's not one I've come across, but I would guess it's been a few weeks. I interpreted the questions as being compare pre-Covid lockdown to now, which made it a little easier to complete.

A lot of the uni's, with research divisions, are doing loads of research into MH and trying to find a cure / way of easing symptoms.

Something like around 25% of people with MH problems are now feeling brilliant because the world has gone to shit and everyone else is now living their life. I’m in that club.
