Cummings and goings

The whole thing is ridiculous.

By defending cummings actions, they have made a mockery of the lockdown rules put in place. Whether or not there is a new wave of people going out is neither here nor there. the point being is that everyone has a reason to go out now, the government has given them justifcation to.

The country is now un policable if there was a second wave, potentially government advice if they were to re lock down the country would be completely ignored by many more based on this.

Imagine a country that had the prime minister defending the actions of an advisor for breaking his lockdown rules rather than amplify the need to have the rules in place. Imagine how badly run of a country that would be that they would literally do a one rule for one decisions and tell everyone afterwards to just move on. All during a national pandemic where thousands are dying......

Try being disabled, Over the last 10 years. Then you'd You'd really know what ugly and aggressive is. One rule for some, another for the rest of us. The self entitled fool should have resigned. Any vilification is both, fully justified, and self inflicted.

Because, quite simply, if anyone had gone through the demeaning and abusive system we now have for those with disabilities, blah blah propaganda blah....

Get off your soapbox. I am disabled, and I’ve been through DWP assessments multiple times. Does that mean I have to be a part of the self-appointed Lockdown Lynch-mob? Am I failing in my duty to my fellow disabled people in not being that interested in how many times this man drove to Durham? I’m not defending him or what he did or didn’t do, I just hate the whole ugly, nasty spectacle. It shows the British people at their worst imo. It’s always been one rule for Them and one for Us, that is hardly news. I have better things to be outraged about right now than what this bloke did in March.

If the people who are putting rules in place are ignoring them, then their rules carry no value.

you can pull a big list of people found to have been breaking the rules and 99% of them don't matter. However when all the people who put the rules in place have broken them, well everyone may as well start heading back out in their droves. After all, the prime minister, cheif advisor and cheif science officer don't believe its dangerous to break them, why not apply that logic to the whole 64 million population.

Yes I was aware of you status.
It was the terms you used. Which were wholly inappropriate. He is being held to account for flouting lockdown. Not being subject to an "ugly attack".You do remember when we had a free press. Cummings would have gone, almost, immediately 20 or 30 years ago. And the suggestion his actions are not relevant, today, is utterly laughable. He, and others like him, are the main cause of the COVID infections, we have now.

if he can do it, anybody can. That's not really the message HMG is trying to get out now, is it!
Anybody else would have been sacked. But what do you expect from a PM who flouted lockdown rules. And is so ineffectual, he knows he's lost without his Svengali.

Agree. The dwp inquisition is equally appalling. Neither are in any way decent or human and one never justifies the other I believe the whole dwp thing was farmed out for cash to private companies during the Labour year's but that's another argument.
What could have been an opportunity organized and precise fact finding which could have been assessed afterword was as usual a repetitive mob slag fest.
Ultimately if that was the plan it would have been more dignified putting him in the stocks and flinging crap at him.
Ultimately what he's done required explanation, fine. Then the public assess and can forcibly put their opinion to the pm.
I hate the repetitive nonsense and scraping for that extra piece of information on the future that follows the daily briefing, let alone that horror show.
I know what he's done previously. I vaguely know what he did here but I could have had a far better picture if the questions where more intelligent based than vitriolic. I will decide what I think from here with the still incomplete information.
I'd love to see some of those "who will save the children "screaming journalists gps data to see where they've been over the last two months.

If you already know that I’m disabled, why the need to question that in two separate posts above? I don’t have to prove myself to anyone here. If you think me a liar, that says more about your pathetic thought processes than mine. If you don’t agree with me, that’s fine, but please don’t make this personal :grin2:
