My postie brought a box of ingredients today I bought from vapable and I've started small making a 5ml sample of the vc recipe

15% Capella Vanilla Custard
2% perfumers apprentice dulce de leche

6mg strength
50/50 vg/pg

First time I've tried making anything. Been vaping 7 weeks and I'm hooked on it.

I know I shouldn't have but I tried some of the sample, it wasn't too bad. I'll have time at the weekend to make a proper first batch, I'm thinking 30ml which I will allow to steep properly.

I don't have any ethyl maltol, how much of a difference does this make?

I'd love to help but I'm also new to mixing. Read earlier today (can't remember which thread) that it can mute weaker flavours (like custard). I put 1 drop in my 10ml custard. Someone should jump in with more knowledge shortly...

It does make a bit of a difference, EM sweetens it up (as you'd probably guessed) but other sweet flavours can do the same. Marshmallow at 2% gives that (GVC) recipe a good touch of sweetness and I'm pretty sure others would too. However, if you're gonna DIY then some EM will be handy to have in your mixing arsenal.

BTW, are you on Twitter as mostlygrumpy?

Ps keep us updated on your mixes. Maybe all the wizards and witches are stirring their cauldrons right now!

if your only doing custards you may get away with just sweetener,em seems a necessity with fruits though...on the plus side from my experience you can add sweetener at any time ...so no rush as your custard will take 4-5 weeks to steep anyway....
