Why?
Not being flippant. People say that you shouldn't charge via USB, why not? I have owned 3 different Mods in my time, one was an internal LiPo, the other two have 18650s. Both manuals from the 18650 mods actively encourage USB charging yet everyone on forums discourages it. From my limited understanding of the technology involved there is no real reason to not charge via the USB. I have done it many times and nothing bad has happened.
It's all about the ability to balance charge effectively. Over time less sophisticated boards can cause your batteries to be charged unevenly and they end up discharging unevenly. And as mentioned above many mods now charge at a rate that's not particularly good for the batteries. Being a regulated mod nothing dangerous is going to happen but there's a strong possibility the useable life cycle of the batteries will be reduced. Having batteries charged and discharged at the same rate is the very reason we use married sets.
Godwins law of vape forum posts states that the longer a thread continues the likelihood of somebody mentioning a DNA chipset increases exponentially.
Are Evolv paying you guys or something jeez
Yeah, shock horror. A superior board being mentioned on vape forums. Who'd have thought.
Mitz's law on new member posts states that with every new member the risk of one of them saying something stupid increases exponentially. Jeez.
