Hi everyone!

I'm recently into mixing my own, mostly cost reasons, but also because I can!

I'm using nic, PG and VG from a great (known) source and using their flavour concentrates also. They are pretty open about ratios etc, yet everything I have made using the same gear as theirs tastes blooming awful!

I like cherry, blackcurrant and a natural mint and am mixing to 70/30 PG/VG at 18% nic flavour@ 20% (PG based) which is the same as theirs and nope, I don't get smooth cherry with a nice TH, I just get harsh, bitter nastiness!

I know they steep juice, however another thing I can't understand is that their natural mint and cherry are clear and colourless however mine are orange-ish from the nic juice (which they sold me)

Should I leave the juices for a couple of weeks and try, or is there something fundamentally wrong with my techniques?

I really want to DIY, but if it all tastes shocking I guess I'm a slave to Grizwald and Vampire Vapes lol.

Many thanks in advance

BT

I do not use the type of flavours you use but nicotne should be clear. Apparently it goes browner with age and tastes peppery as it goes off.Does that sound like your nicotine.

Yes it's like a light tan colour, so potentially stale nicotine then?

Bummer really as it's put me off that supplier, as at £4 for 10ml of ready mixed it's expensive

Their flavour is great tho, so I may persevere with just the concentrates.

Where's a good place for great (fresh?) Nicotine then please?

Is it just harsh, or harsh and peppery? If it's peppery, tbh your fucked... no 'steeping' will help. If it's just harsh, lower your nic and it will be vapeable. Not an ideal resolution, but I'd suggest sending it back if possible. Also, consider calling them out so others don't make the same mistake.

I buy from Justvape24/7 but if you look through the threads in mixology there have been a few recently where people list the half a dozen most popular places.

Yes peppery but not in a nice way.

It's a local shop in Bishop Auckland, as I've said their ready made is great, but everything I've made up using the 30ml nicotine I got tastes baaaad.

Blackcurrant is the nicest I've tasted, same for cherry, they've also done a "polarize" which is trebor softmints all over and delicious. All ready made obviously.
