As a further test, I have mixed some 0% nic cherry in a 60/40 PG/VG ratio, flavour @ 10% and it's pleasant, but I'm guessing the sweetness of the VG is overwhelming the cherry.

I get it (cherry) but more of an undertone, it's a bit lacking, so as an experiment I've taken the 18mg nic cherry, and added VG and a little PG to make c. 15% flavour, 60/40 (PG/VG) @ 12.9mg nic (working on weight so may be a little over or under)

I now need a lie down and stiff drink to get over the maths involved

it wasn't quite so simple as that as I had already used approx 7/8 ml out of the 30 I made up that tastes awful in the first instance, so I did a quick weigh, and adjusted the final additions that way.

I normally use Liquix or Ejuicemeup as my "goto" calculators.

That said being an Engineer I do like "solve it challenge"

i now mix batches of 30ml at a time. i like 50/50 mixes. so i find the easiest way is pour 15ml of vg in a 50ml mixing jug then add my concentrates and nic then top up to 30ml with pg.
sounds to me youre concentrate needs upping. and you may have a bad nic?

Yes, bad nic I think, and the concentrate may be too strong at my initial 20% hence trying it at 10 with no nic.

The zero nic is pretty good, just lacking a little depth of flavour and little throat hit!

Ordered some nic from vape Inc and will report back!

Yes peppery but not in a nice way.

It's a local shop in Bishop Auckland, as I've said their ready made is great, but everything I've made up using the 30ml nicotine I got tastes baaaad.

Blackcurrant is the nicest I've tasted, same for cherry, they've also done a "polarize" which is trebor softmints all over and delicious. All ready made obviously.

How much did u buy. Just 10ml? At least u didnt buy a litre. Once u get the vape inc stuff u can compare them. Try vaping diluted base (no flavour)from both suppliers then u will know what good and bad nic tastes like. Nic normaly has a slight colour, but lighter is better, but taste is the overriding concern.

10% is a very good starting point. i mix most of mine at 10% unless its the vapours r us concentrate and that gets mixed at minimum 20%

Well the good news is I have managed to salvage some pretty rank juice to a reasonable vape!

I can't tip it up to 20w without a nasty tastes (kinda burnt) which is where I normally chug at, however I have cherries, a little TH and not chucking 30ml down the sink

Thanks to everyone for the input, I'm pretty sure the nicotine is the issue. Thankfully it was only 30ml but it's still not what I'd expect as the rest of the gear is pretty top notch; that said it has left a large doubt in my mind of the quality of their gear.
