DIY juice vg question

So got my supplies in today to diy my juice, and I forgot to order pg just got straight vg. The vg is really thick and I want to dilute it. Can I use filtered tap water to do that?? Also I tried some right after and they sucked and tasted flavorless, so I'm hoping they just need to steep. How long do you guys usually steep your juice? And what is straight glycerine? I got some a long time ago at walmart. It's usp grade but don't know much about it and haven't vaped it. Could I cut the mix with that?

The stuff at Wal-Mart is the exact same thing you would order!. And some diy has to Steep for as long as 2 to be 3 weeks! I hope I have helped. ....
