Do clearomizers improve/mature with age?

Just something I was wondering about. Because I bought quite a few clearos not long after buying my first starter kit, I was swapping them around a fair bit, so the first one (a disposable) lasted me about six weeks. I've just noticed it tasted burned and was disappointed to have to throw it out because it had a lovely strong fruity flavour to it - much better than the other ones. Not sure if it's because it was the only one I had that wasn't a bottom coil or not, but I'm sure it didn't start out being so....well...tasty! Is this a common thing, has anybody else noticed it?

It got me thinking....maybe I should fill a few new ones when I replace it and leave them for a week and see if they "mature" too...?

I find my clearos taste better after i've used them a few times then dry burned them, possibly better than when new, maybe because the wicks have already been tainted by sweet juices which is what i usually vape? i would say yes they taste better after a few tank fills...

The liquid generally improves with steeping, as the days go by it will get better if it's a good liquid. The clearo's, i'd say they would only degrade but they ought to take a long time doing it. It's whatever gives you the best result really, if you find a trick that works for you, use it. I don't use clearo's myself so i can't say too much more on them.

Liquid improves with age. the aging process speeds up with more air, heat and UV light.

Typically clearos heat up your liquid, allow light through (as they are generally clear) and you add more air through them as you draw on them. So you're effectively speed steeping e-liquid in a clearomiser and most e-liquid on the market isn't fully steeped when you get it.

Also over time the coil and wicks 'bed in' and improve with age. You often get a 'brand new coil taste' from atomisers. this is sometimes dirt on the coil or wick, maybe some kind of coating on the surface of the wire that burns off as you break it in, Sometimes if your hands were greasy when you install a new coil the wick will soak up (it's a wick, that's what it does) any traces of liquid on your fingers, or maybe the person in the clearo factory that put the clearo together didn't have the cleanest hands in the world.

When I get disposable clearos , I drip a bit of menthol juice diluted with VG on the wicks, and let them sit that way til I plan to use them. The ones I've "soaked" always seem to give stronger, richer flavours than the ones I haven't done.

its probably like others have said the liquid aging will give it better flavour but yeah after the first few times of using a coil and wick it will taste better but then after a while it will start to degrade

Oooh I might try that. I do like my strong flavours.

in my experience, nothing improves with age other than cheese, wine, and yer teenage hell-kids :P

One little bit of advice, if you start to get a burnt or muted flavour, don't assume the coil (or clearo in the case of disposables) has to be thrown out. As long as the coil is still sound, you can give the whole thing a good rinse/soak in warm water, dry off, pop onto a battery and "dry burn" (fire the battery on an empty tank a few times - this will dry the wick and burn off any build-up on the coil). You now have a "good as new" clearo

I'm very new to vaping, so apologies if this seems an obvious question but on a disposable top coil clearo how do you check if the coil is okay/saveable? Is it a case of just trying the method you described and seeing if it makes a difference or can you check in some way before you do it?
