think this has already been tried in a couple of other areas.

its not going to work out to well imo
theres not really f all to do in one of those places except smoke or colouring in if you can find a pencil that works that is

Think you'll find, on the whole - mental health facilities are pretty tolerant of smoking etc, they just turn a blind eye on most occassions - there are normally courtyards/gardens where folks disappear off to.

Agree Fay, was working in this place a couple of days ago and they have regular smoke breaks. All the patients seem to smoke and I would not want to be the one to try and stop it!

we used to actually buy fags to give to the patients on bank holidays when the hospital shop was shut. The place would be lifting otherwise.

On the other side of the fence - I started smoking again after 5 years when they banged me up in one of these places - couldn't have coped otherwise.

Tis a load of bollox.

Yep that is exactly what normally happens, however this ban effects all outdoor areas as well as indoor spaces, I can't see that being good for patients.
