ECigs in the TPD Voted Today and this is what happened!

in regrad to diyers as far as im aware, nic base, pg, vg and flavour concentrates have all been around many many years before ecigs came along and has seemingly been overlooked by the EU . the fact is you can walk in boots and by VG, you can get safe useable concentrates from cake making shops. PG is equally readily available. the only one that may or may not prove more difficult is if they clamp down on nicotine base but as its used for a variety of non smoking related products i cant see that happening. But in essence the whole TPD in reality is going to have its biggest impact on those man on the street vapers with the basic ego's and clearos which is probably 90+% of vapers. it will also deter smokers from taking up vaping .the ones least affected are in all likelyhood the members of places like POTV who are aware of whats going on and the ways around the situation.

The time for challenge, civil action and arse-on-the-ground disobedience is upon us.

Sitting behind a computer screen is now no longer an option.

Arses. Out there and in faces. It's the only way.

Agreed. This. Etc.

I think the main point they missed is you cannot ban or stop anything that is DIY !
They can make the ingredients harder to get they can even hike the prices up so its not worthwhile but they cant ban it !
It would be easier for them to make chewing gum illegal and make it a class A substance.

Does anyone have access to a list of all the UK MEPs and how they voted (or if they turned up). I've got the list of the 8 North West ones and am trying to pick out their names from the chaotic and incomprehensible list of surnames of voters (I can't figure out what all the different sections the voters are lumped into are supposed to mean). Also, I have some in the North West who have pretty common surnames, so I can't be 100% sure, if I find the surname, that it was the one I was looking for.

I want to know EXACTLY how our representatives chose to "represent" us - and I want to make it very clear to them and their parties that their vote on article 18 will directly influence my vote in May, and that of all my family.

Thats the way I understand it aswell. They have either completely missed the fact that people can diy their own liquid (which i doubt) or they assume that the man on the street/ego user would not have a clue sourcing the ingredients. Because of the fact that nic is used in other applications it would have made it difficult to include with the TPD this time round. If this crap does get passed into law then they will probably wait and see what happens with diy and if it gets out of hand then they will clamp down on it by other means.

So it won't be illegal to buy a litre of 72mg nic from the UK or member states?

I was kind of assuming that they could use the law as agreed to outlaw anything of 10ml of max 20mg for the consumer, thus effectively banning all useful levels and quantities of nic base.

Throughout all this protesting at the TPD I've been waiting for the BIG guns, The Consumer Organisation and Trade Organisation that represent vapers in the UK. Apparently they exist but I've seen precious little evidence of them. Where were the Infographics?, Memes, Press releases, Organised events, Adverts, Requests for crowd funding for National press campaigns, Celebrity endorsements. The only thing I heard was tumbleweeds, and I saw precious little of anything. Whilst our own POTV staff worked themselves to death collecting and publicising info they should not have had to! It should have been flowing to them in a veritable deluge - in fact after 6 months of being a reasonably active vaper and forum member I still could not reliably tell you our consumer organisations website details. To much of our fight has been piecemeal, It needs to be co-ordinated and focused and it needs above all to be NATIONALLY VISIBLE in MAINSTREAM MEDIA...

It looks like they have only covered pre mixed eliquid. There is no mention of nic base in the tpd this time but I expect something will be added within the next couple of years. They must know that people diy their own juice.

We'll all be meeting up on pub car parks to surreptitiously exchange bottles before long....

Hi the situation about the ecig here in Italy is worse all the shop will be close in some days. The similar law against the e cig it start at beginning of february with 58% if tax and restrictive politics about all the e cig products.
So i think we will the first pilot project to block the e cig in eu. Fight for us too please
